They're trying to keep Barlow accustomed to a fireman role. They probably believe they'll have a better closer once they're competitive.

Mountcastle droppable in 10 team H2H? I'm probably looking at A. Diaz, Pinder or LOwe as a replacement.
Brad Johnson
1:01
Not droppable for those players. I assume that's Nate Lowe. If Brandon, then jump on him.

E Ruiz or Jarren Duran ROS?
Brad Johnson
1:02
Sooooo
Probability favors Duran. But it'll probably be pretty bland from a fantasy perspective.
1:03
Ruiz, if it works out, has upside for a Berti-like outburst. Just skewed a little more towards having some power outcomes too.
Remember folks, it's a fantasy chat! I know the deadline is tempting.

Do you think Cade Cavalli will be called us soon? If so how do you think he’ll do?
Brad Johnson
1:04
I'll guess it's either soon, September for an appearance or two, or late-April
1:05
He's getting to be on the older side so they might not be too aggressive with managing his service clock
1:06
But if they want to be, he's thrown more than enough clunkers to justify not promoting him

Will Vientos or Alvarez see any playing time this year?
Brad Johnson
1:06
Alvarez might get a look if they fail to add a catcher. That would be a huge failure on their part.
1:07
I can't imagine Vientos makes it through the deadline on the Mets. He's not good enough to fit their plans, but he is good enough to get them part of somebody who does.

Is Senzel finally healthy and ready for a strong two months?
Brad Johnson
1:08
I suppose we'll see. He's another guy I expect to be pretty bland. Maybe a good AVG but little else
1:09
Since late June (106 PA), he's hitting .326/.379/.432 with 2 HR, 3 SB, and a pace of about 80 runs and 60 per 600 PA.
I want to love you (m)Adley

Michael Harris / Carrasco / His 1st for Skubal / Munoz
Michael Harris / Carrasco / Mondessi for Skubal / Munoz
10 team roto dynasty. (I have Skubal and Munoz,  and in the midst of a rebuild)Michael Harris / Carrasco / His 1st for Skubal / Munoz
OR
Michael Harris / Carrasco / Mondessi for Skubal / Munoz
Brad Johnson

Oh good, more context
1:11
I can't really speak to the value of draft picks so you'll have to choose if Mondesi is better than a 1st rounder. I imagine the pick is better.
I think the trade makes sense. Try to repackage Carrasco immediately.
1:12
There's a real chance none of those players matter much in 10-team mixed, but Harris has the best chance to be a meaningful contributor.
Time to start wrapping up. My dogs want some attention.

Corbin Carroll, Riley Greene or Brennan Davis.  Who has biggest fantasy impact for their rebuilding big league team?  Thanks.
Brad Johnson
1:13
Easily Carroll. Blows the other two out of the water in terms of roto category potential
1:14
Remember, Greene's fantasy value is still very hypothetical. He needs to lift the ball more which not everybody can do without too many strikeouts.

Where do you put the chances of a 2022 Corbin Carroll call-ups that gives him fantasy relevancy this season?
Brad Johnson
1:14
Very low.
1:15
If that was in the cards, the DBacks had all kinds of opportunity to signal it by moving him up to Triple-A earlier in the season. They've proceeded very cautiously
imo, they've signaled he will join the team next late-April.

It’s been a minute since I last got involved in your fantasy chat but when J. India was struggling, were you advising people to keep or drop? I ask because he was my keeper from last year and I always believed he would get on track and lo and behold, India is producing. but now, does he have trade value in your eyes?
Brad Johnson
1:15
I'm a huge India fan. Has all the intangibles you look for in a developing player.
And a hackable home park too
1:16
I'll be keep/buy on him for a few years yet. All the reports I have on his off-field traits are glowing.

Consensus number 1 pick for next fantasy baseball draft?
Brad Johnson
1:17
Ooh, this feels like a fun place to end. I'm not sure there's a consensus building yet. Lemme think a moment.
1:18
You know, and this is really boring, if I were draft today, I'd repeat the Trea Turner pick
I think we'll also see folks on Acuna, Tatis, Rodriguez, and depending on how they finish, Soto and Judge.
