Fantasy Baseball Chat with Brad Johnson: 8/1/22
powered byJotCast
Brad Johnson
12:46
But he did recently face the Dodgers with mixed results.
12:47
What you've laid out (Cueto/Lauer) makes sense.
JC
12:47
Alex Cobb or Eric Lauer? Who would you rather keep for the last two months
Brad Johnson
12:47
Cobb imo
Matty A
12:47
How bad is today's trade for Taylor Rogers?
Brad Johnson
12:48
I don't think it's terrible in that he was already kind of on the outs in SD. He'll probably still save a handful of games ROS and he only projected for like 8 if he stayed put.
Ayden
12:48
What are the best and most competitive free fantasy leagues out there?
Brad Johnson
12:48
Hey Ayden, I answered this earlier in the chat. I'd start with the Razz Slam if I were you. That'll introduce you to the deep end.
Mitch

Is it time to buy Williams as the closer in MIL?
Brad Johnson
12:49
Yes, 25 minutes late, actually.
Dago baseball
12:49
You think Snell will duplicate last seasons second half?
Brad Johnson
12:49
Not necessarily duplicate, but all signs point to him being one of the better pitchers in the league right now.
12:50
If we ignore a Coors Field flop, he had four other July starts in which he allowed a total of three runs and 15 hits in 22 innings with 35 strikeouts
And the teams he faced were the Dodgers, Giants, Mets, and Twins

12:51
What is Fernando Tatis’ trade value. People are trying to get him for pretty cheap saying I don’t have time to wait. Surely he’s worth more than Rodon straight up or Carlos Correa and Spencer Strider!?
Brad Johnson
12:51
In a redraft, I think Correa+Strider is a passable offer. But, why not just hold him?
Last I heard, he was supposed to return mid-month
Josiah Gray
12:52
Do you still like me?
Brad Johnson
12:52
I don't like his context. It's amazing he has 7 wins tbh
I think he's just barely a full-time rosterable pitcher in 12-team mixed
12:53
If your team is good, you don't want him
But you shouldn't be able to stream him without someone stepping in and keeping him
If that makes sense
Iain
12:54
I need 3b help and Max Muncy qualifies and is on my league’s WW. Should I make a move to pick him up? Would be replacing Josh Donaldson and paired with Nolan Gorman on my roster.
Brad Johnson
12:54
They project pretty similarly. You could make the move if only because Muncy has more position flex if something else comes along.
Iain
12:54
What’s your outlook for Jean Segura? I lost Jazz Chisolm a few weeks back. Segura adequate enough replacement?
Brad Johnson
12:55
Yea, he looked to have unlocked a little bit at the plate before going down. Hopefully he can pick up where he left off.

Does Ruiz get more playing time in Milwaukee? Need those steals
Brad Johnson
12:56
I think he must, right? They make moves to help themselves win. We know Rogers is a bit of a mess right now and Lamet has a damaged UCL so this deal has to be mostly about Ruiz.
12:57
I'm not discounting Lamet, he's still one of my favorite "relief prospects"
Has all the inputs of a Top 10 closer
Kevin
12:57
Sell high on Matt Carpenter?
Brad Johnson
12:57
Sure, if someone is offering
12:58
I wouldn't force a trade

In 2nd place in a 20 team roto league, what would you do if offered Schwarber, Canha, and Syndogard for Goldy?
Brad Johnson
12:58
Well... do those three positively impact your categories? My guess is they don't.
Canha and Thor are classic accumulators. They
12:59
They're good in 20-team because they pile up volume, but it's neither good nor bad. So, unless you have vacancies in your roster - most second place teams do not - then you'd be downgrading from Goldy to Schwarber with little else to show for it.

Is Barlow still the Closer in KC?
Brad Johnson

Yes, with the caveat that Staumont or whoever will occasionally pitch after him.
