Has Vlad Guerrero lost his luster?  I’m not sure he’ll be a top 10 pick, next year.
Brad Johnson
12:55
I'm not sure either. I could see him in the 8-15 range if I had to make a list today
Greg
12:55
How concerned should Verlander owners be about him hitting a wall?
Brad Johnson
12:55
I have a ton of Verlander shares, and I'm not doing any special planning to adjust for that.
12:56
He's an experienced veteran.
Ryan
12:56
Mateo has been incredible.  That is all
Brad Johnson
12:56
We have different standards for incredible. I will say this, that he salvaged his season over the last few weeks is incredible. As in, I cannot credit it.
12:57
I don't really get it tbh. He's a very bad hitter.
But, I guess Freddy Galvis snuck in a couple good roto seasons too.
Is Mickey fine?
12:57
Any reason to pick up and get excited about Mickey Moniak?
Brad Johnson
12:58
Not really. I think he can be a 1 WAR type irl. He's showing some signs of hitting for decent AVG and power. Like .255 and 20 HR per 600 PA perhaps? Still a wide range of outcomes, but the likeliest are... bland.

Worth picking up and keeping for next year or just get him in the draft next year? Good reliable SP is always hard to acquire
Brad Johnson
12:59
Without knowing more about your league, I'm not going out of my way to acquire/protect him.
Profile reads to me like he'll need a couple years to adjust in the Majors.
Dipoto's Double

Who has the higher offensive ceiling over the next 5 years - Jose Miranda or Jeremy Pena?
Brad Johnson
1:00
I prefer Pena, but I'm also including that Miranda remains mostly positionless which affects his ability to garner PA
Ryan

Tyler wells worth a flyer down the stretch.  Not much on fa market
Brad Johnson
1:00
Yea, that's a fine flier
Tatis’ Ringworm
1:00
Will any potential Padres playoff games count towards Tatis’ suspension?
Brad Johnson
1:00
No

What's the worst fantasy trade you ever made?
Brad Johnson
1:01
Haha, I still have nightmares about this one.
1:02
Bradley Zimmer came up around the beginning of July. I needed SBs without giving away too much in the other categories if I wanted to win my 20-team dynasty. So I traded Eugenio Suarez, Carter Kieboom, and Jesus Sanchez for Zimmer on August 1.
1:03
He went on to hit .143/.218/.198 then absorb one of my keeper selections for a couple years thereafter (we keep 28 of 45)
Cost me a championship and probably some future dollars too.
1:04
Kieboom and Sanchez haven't actually hurt that much yet - and this deal was made 5 years ago.
But, the league had several managers shift into a rebuild mode that offseason. They sold good MLBers at a discount. But I didn't have Kieboom and Sanchez to market.

Does Volpe make the team right away next year?
Brad Johnson
1:05
I kinda suspect Peraza opens while Volpe tests the waters in Triple-A.
1:06
I also suspect Volpe will get a brief promotion at the end of this season - perhaps if Peraza is brought on as a September callup.
Royal Blue

Is Mike Massey the next Whit Merrifield?  Seems like a contact specialist.
Brad Johnson
1:07
Not sure I'd comp them too closely personally.
His strikeout rate will probably double over a larger sample
Currently 11.4%, was 21.8% in Double-A and 24.5% in Triple-A
1:08
He does have a high-BABIP approach
Oh, and he won't touch Whit's SB totals
D. Hamilton

Put me in coach, I’ll steal you that important bag when you need it the most
Brad Johnson
1:08
Not a great sign that he's remained stranded in Double-A. With a 84 wRC+ to boot
1:09
And that's after a really hot start to the season.
He might have had a pinch runner role if the Red Sox were contending. Which... they're not dead yet.
