Nick Anderson. More goes to what I mentioned earlier about how I expect more committees this year because of the likely doubleheaders and truncated schedule. That favors elite relievers rather than those who find themselves in the closer's role, so Anderson certainly get a bump even if he's not the lone "guy" in Tampa.

Dinelson Lamet. Is he the next big thing? Or way overhyped?
Dan Harris
1:38
If I had to pick one or the other, it's overhyped. I get the strikeout rate, I get the excellent breaking ball. But batters hit his fastball well and he's a two-pitch pitcher, and one who doesn't have great career ratios anyway. Delayed start helps him after a likely innings cap would have shortened his season, but I admit I don't get the hype quite as much as others.

Any advice to aspiring fantasy writers/podcasters out there?
Dan Harris
1:40
Sounds simple, but practice. For writers, just write. For free. Start a blog, contact a site and offer to write for free. Do what you can to hone your craft. Ditto with podcasting. Start your own. I listened to my first few podcasts recently and hoo-boy. Grotesque is the word that came to mine. Put in the time and the effort. If your work is good, it will get noticed.

Trevor Bauer. Yay or nay!
Dan Harris
1:42
Ya-nay? Bauer could be one of the best pitchers in the game. But he has been a true fantasy asset just once in his career. I've got him 19th among starting pitchers, which now that I'm looking at it, feels too high. But the strikeouts offer a nice floor, and he is pitching for his next (one-year) contract. So I'd roll the dice.

What is one thing you learned about working in the fantasy industry that you didn't know before you started?
Dan Harris
1:43
That the vast majority of people do not work in the industry full time. So many of the names you know are basically working two full-time jobs to provide you with their excellent content. And that really is what it takes to start. But I was shocked. I thought everyone I knew and read did fantasy all day every day. But so many have other lives!

What do think MLB will ultimately do with the players service time due to the shortened season, mostly involving those whom would be held down in the minors to add another year?
Dan Harris
1:45
Sounds like that anyone who plays will get credit for a full year of service time. But my guess is that minor leaguers will be out of luck. The good news is that expanded rosters are sure to come, which means more minor-leaguers will be in the majors, and teams will have a harder time justifying manipulation of service time. But how MLB will handle all these issues is certainly up in the air.

Sam Hilliard or Trent Grishanm for a back-up outfielder?  Hilliard takes an obvious hit if he doesn't play in Colorado all year.
Dan Harris
1:46
I would still go with Hilliard. His power-speed combo plays outside of Coors, and I'd take him in a neutral environment over Grisham.

Going through some of my teams and I have made some trades already.  Player values can be estimated using adp and rankings.  However, I have a more difficult time evaluating trades that are 2 for 1, or 2 for 3.  I'm wondering if Fantasy Pros has any intentions of putting out a Trade Value Chart to help with these types of trade offers.
Dan Harris
1:49
So, we (I) put out a trade value chart every week of the season normally, and I had spent the entire offseason refining it (as I did in football before last season). That allows you to evaluate 2-for-1s, etc. But with no season going, it's honestly too speculative to create a trade value chart right now. Values are going to move so much depending on when/how the season starts. So, no plans in the work now. But once the season gets going, every week.

With the delay in season Paxton and Luzardo fall where in your ranks? Thanks!
Dan Harris
1:49
Two guys that rose pretty substantially. Luzardo at 24, Paxton at 31.

Who is one player who you will not change your stance on(good or bad) no matter what stats or thoughts are released about them?
Dan Harris
1:52
You are going to hate this answer. Nobody. And everyone's answer should be nobody. Look, your general predilections will always come into play when evaluating players. That's just how it goes and that's totally fine. But when the stats don't back up your narrative, you need to be willing to change your opinion. So, nobody. I'm lame. SORRY!

Do you think a shortened season will results in many more double headers to get games in and result in a need for a deeper pitching roster?
Dan Harris
1:54
I do think double-headers are in the works yes, though I also think shortened games. In real life, that means deeper pitcher rosters, certainly. For fantasy, that's also a fair way to go, but in daily lineup leagues, you'll also want to maximize hitters. With the likely heat in Arizona or wherever they end up, batters aren't going to be able to play 9 games a week or whatever. You can win hitting categories by just having more plate appearances than other teams.
Brewer Bucks
1:54
When do the Brewers sign Woodruff or Hiura to long term deals?
Dan Harris
1:54
Both are under contract till at least 2025. So, don't hold your breath. But why would you want them to given their contracts?

Any Suggestions on late round pitchers/ RP i can draft or pick up from waivers? This is a deep league so most of the sleepers are taken already
Dan Harris
1:57
For RP, I'd see if James Karinchak or Yoshihisa Hirano are available. Both should be able to pick up saves. For starters, Dylan Cease, Nate Pearson, Elieser Hernandez are all guys going outside the top 300 that may be available.

Is there a schedule for the podcasts. I’m talking about baseball and football because I am addicted to them.
Dan Harris
1:58
Ha, well Bobby hosts a weekly baseball podcast (three times per week pre-season), and I host Leading Off once a week for baseball. For football, we've been doing two a week for awhile in the offseason, and during the season, we usually do four. I have thoughts to increase them though . . . . Just subscribe to the FantasyPros Football Podcast and FantasyPros Baseball Podcat. You won't miss a beat.

Rank these pitchers for this season..Corbin, Darvish, Giolito, Glasnow
Dan Harris
1:59
Corbin-Giolito-Darvish-Glasnow.  Not a huge difference between them.

We play in a league that counts holds and saves. Given the late start to the season, would you take a chance on Jordan Hicks? Thank you
Dan Harris
2:01
Sure. I can't imagine there will be too much value with Hicks. The Cards won't want to throw him on back to back days anyway. So, not a huge target. But more value now with the delayed season.

some thoughts on bo bichette and ramon laureano? i think they have monster seasons ahead of them in solid lineups..
Dan Harris
2:02
I can't really buy into a jump for Laureano. He's a fine player, but it's not as if I suddenly see a 30-30 season or anything. But for Bichette, absolutely, I'm uber bullish on his future. He legitimately could turn in a 30-30 season if everything breaks right. Sky is the limit.
Ok, friends. My hour is up. Thanks for stopping by and for chatting. Make sure to check out some of our football coverage this week and catch our livestream covering the draft. Stay safe!
