What's up, everyone? I've got some banana and nuts trek mix, I'm updating some outfield rankings, and I'm ready to talk some fantasy baseball - let's roll!

Players that have tested positive for COVID. How far would you drop in ADP? Someone like Freddie Freeman. I see he is still being drafted in the 2nd round. Does he fall?
Dan Harris
1:02
The elephant in the room, so let's get this out of the way. It's an educated guess here, at best. Anyone who tests positive or is on the IL because of COVID-19 concerns needs to be dropped, at least a little. If the report is that the player is asymptomatic, then the drop is less than significant. For someone like Freeman, who is dealing with tough symptoms according to Nick Markakis, the drop is a bit more. Considering the safer options in the second round, I'd probably look for Freeman closer to the fourth, for now. But it's an educated guess, as I said.

#3 pick H2H. Yelich or Cole? Thanks!
Dan Harris
1:03
Yelich for me. No issues with Cole there but I haven't changed my top five for now.

Which prospects would you take for keeper next year?
Dan Harris
1:04
Jo Adell, certainly. Nate Pearson is a big riser for me this year, and certainly beyond. MacKenzie Gore may not be able to have the big impact this year that we hoped, but certainly next year. And Wander Franco. Usual names.

Hey Dan, hope you enjoyed the holiday and thanks in advance for your time. I recently made a trade for Bregman and gave up Buehler. I have Degrom, Paxton, Glasnow, and was able to pick up Rich Hill off waivers. I dropped Polanco after the trade. Thoughts on the trade? Also, I have Hader in my bullpen and am considering going with Lugo as my second RP as the pitching landscape is in question. Robles (RP) is available on the waiver wire if I want to go conventional too. 10 team H2H league. Thanks again.
Dan Harris
1:05
Legit back to back in my rankings overall right now, so certainly no issues with it, particularly given your roster construction. And I'd probably go Robles over Lugo for now assuming saves are a category.

Kluber/Boyd or Kershaw/A Wood? Also, what are your thoughts on Jake Odorizzi in a QS/K/9 league? I think A Wood has more of an upside so I went with him over Odorizzi
Dan Harris
1:07
Don't have SUPER strong feelings here, but I'd take Kluber/Boyd because I have Boyd pretty far ahead of Wood. Listen to the FantasyPros baseball podcast that will come out today and Alex Fast of Pitcher List details the Boyd love. And I don't love Odorizzi but he has been a big riser from the delay because of the schedule - AL and NL Central have a lot of weak offenses. So, I'd take Odorizzi. But I get being excited by Wood.

If trout lasts past the top 5 in a 10 man should it still be a pass for someone safer? Or pull the trigger worthy. Thanks Dan!
Dan Harris
1:09
So, you've got the immovable object meeting the irresistible force here, right? You cannot do anything risky in your first round but you have the best player in baseball who is talking about playing this year as if it's iffy. For me, I just can't pass on Trout there, especially in a 10-person league where you can make up for it. So, I'm taking him.

What do you make of the Dodgers 5th SP situation? Who’s the add?
Dan Harris
1:10
Sigh, neither, really. My guess is there is going to be some sort of piggyback situation with May and Stripling, but zero clue as to which one is going to be more valuable. I'm fine with drafting either but you need to be prepared to get next to nothing out of that pick if you guess wrong, and even if you guess right.

When is Leading Off coming back????????????????
Dan Harris
1:11
Aw, dry your eyes here but . . . next season. We made the difficult decision that it just wasn't worth the effort given the minimal benefit it will give to our loyal listeners. It WILL be back next year. It WILL be better than ever. It WILL contain annoying dad jokes. But thank you, as always, for listening.

Will you have more dfs content since full-season is going to suck
Dan Harris
1:13
Oh you want DFS content? We're gonna have you some DFS content. Look, I'm so excited I can't even put a sentence together. Yes, honestly, I think it's important for us to focus more heavily on DFS than we even usually do because a lot of people just aren't going to go through the time and effort to play season-long leagues this year. And although I will be going through the time and effort, I completely understand that. So, we are certainly planning to take care of our DFS crew with additional efforts. Stay tuned.

Non-injury related, who is a hitter that has moved up a ton because of the delay?
Dan Harris
1:16
The delay has been much more beneficial to certain pitchers than hitters, and the hitters that benefit the most are those who had iffy playing time considerations in the NL but will now see everyday at-bats. But, putting those aside, a guy who moved up significantly is Franmil Reyes. You know he hits the ball as hard as anyone. But now he benefits from facing primarily weak pitching staffs in the AL and NL Central. Raise that fly ball percentage just a tad and he probably leads the league in homers.

How many drafts have you done since they announced a restart and who do you have the most shares of?
Dan Harris
1:17
Great question. I have not done TOO many since the restart, though I do have one tomorrow night in an industry draft (which will be livestreamed by the way). So far, it's James Paxton. I don't think the industry has quite yet caught up with how much his draft stock moved up with the delay.

Thoughts on Matthew Boyd?
Dan Harris
1:20
Referenced him a bit earlier, but he's in that gray area for me. He's got an elite slider and he just allowed SO many home runs off his fastball that if he can improve even slightly, it would make a world of difference. At the same time, he plays on a terrible team with a terrible defense and is a two-pitch pitcher (slider/fastball 86% of the time last year). If his new changeup and/or curveball can be effective, then yeah, he's got a chance to really do some damage. But that's a big if. So, he's an SP4 for me at the moment, but with upside.

1:20
I feel like the whole world is sleeping on Caleb Smith. He was elite last year until he hurt his hip, right?
Dan Harris
1:23
Yeah, Smith is an interesting guy. He was having an excellent season before his hip injury which really got him off track. He lost a few ticks on his fastball and that really did some damage to his numbers. But, before that, he was outstanding. And the thing with Smith this year is we've got a two-month season essentially, right? Well the first two months of the last two seasons, Smith had a 330 ERA and struck out more than 11 batters per nine. He does have a mostly tough schedule with only the NL East and AL East, but he is basically free and could be a difference-maker.

is Nate Pearson someone to be stashing in redrafts?
Dan Harris
1:25
Yeah, for sure. The Blue Jays' rotation is weak and injury prone, and Pearson's stuff is electric. There was also a report that he worked hard on his secondary stuff during the delay. So, will he definitely start? No. But his upside is enormous and there is at least a viable path. Definitely a guy to use a late-round selection on.
Quinton
1:25
How have your rankings changed because of the delay?
Dan Harris
1:27
Well, obviously, players with injury concerns a few months ago who have recovered have gone up. And NL hitters facing playing time concerns in April who benefit from the DH have risen similarly. But, overall, the effect has been negligible on my overall rankings. I'd say that starting pitchers as a whole have moved down a bit because it's unclear how long they'll need to ramp up and how pitching staffs will be handled. But I've . . . under-reacted to the delay, if that's possible.

My LF position is weak. Is Cespedes worth picking up or is there a sleeper for LF?
Dan Harris
1:29
It really depends on the depth of your league. But Cespedes is someone who I can see making an impact. He'll get at LEAST half the games at DH and probably more, and he can play left on occasion. It's been several years since he's done anything and has basically played 2/3 of a season over the last three years combined. But he's free in drafts and has plenty of upside so I'd take my shot.
Zach
1:29
You know what would be really fitting this year? Rich Hill wins the stinking Cy Young. Am I right or am I right?
Dan Harris
1:32
Haha, it would be great to see. And man, it is NOT that crazy. Inning for inning, few pitchers can do what Hill does and he is a huge beneficiary of the delay, both because it gave him time to recover from his injury and because with the regional schedule, he gets to face mostly weak offenses. So yeah, he's got a realistic shot. With that said, let's not forget that Hill basically should have had TJ surgery and just pushed it off because this is his last hurrah. So there's no guarantee he even makes it through a 60-game season. That said, draft him and enjoy the ride for as long as he does pitch.

Give me the darkest of dark horses for saves, please!
Dan Harris
1:35
Ok, so, I'm going to give you a half answer because again, I'm stealing from Alex Fast here who discussed this guy on our most recent podcast. His last name is Rogers. He's from the Taylor Rogers family. He is not Taylor Rogers. Listen to the podcast when it comes out today - Alex drops some knowledge.

I'm thinking about a strategy in which I target players that have tested positive for COVID-19, especially asymptomatic players. I assume I'll be able to get them at a discount and should, probably, start season nearly on time and be immune to catching it again during the season. Whatcha think?
Dan Harris
1:38
First, is that your real name? Were you made fun of a lot growing up? I'm sorry! Second, I will again quote my favorite line from Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure when describing Socrates' philosophy: "The ultimate wisdom comes from knowing that you know nothing . . . That's us, dude!" I get where you're coming from but we really have no idea how the antibodies will work or how long players will have immunity from it or anything. I get the thinking, but I'd personally play it safe.
