Chris Ryall just Tweeted this. I thought all on here would enjoy.

I still have nightmares about the time I was in Finland at a comic pro's place and he had an original panel of Jack Kirby's Thor art on his wall.

When I asked about it, he said "I could never afford a page of Kirby Thor art by myself so me and 5 friends bought a 6-panel page..."

@Mike...@Philip...with sports cards, they'll cut up jerseys and what not and insert the scraps into cards...so I wouldn't ever rule that out in OA, if there is demand for it.

Would break my heart, but if there's $$$ in it, there will be "fans" who will support it.

@MikeP As much as I hate that tweet story, I have to admit that it's sort of touching that he and five friends love Kirby that much and were so desperate to own something that they did it. At least we know it wasn't for profit.

If it's any consolation, it was creative genius of some workers at Marvel to cut up Kirby pages when ordered to discard them in order to avoid returning the OA to the King and then retrieve them from the trash later that we have to thank for some of his early pages surviving (sorry for the unparsable sentence...). Similar to saving stained glass windows from European cathedrals as collections of small panes to save them form Nazis in WWII (and now a tortured analogy...).
