@Taylor @Kelsey @Felix Writson story cut up...you mean "Clarice"?  I bought 2 of those panels last year, in fact.  But Wrightson himself cut those up to facilitate sales, I'm told.  These were all from 4 panel pages, and it wasn't like a regular comic --- each panel is like a separate page in a way, with it's own line of verse at the top.

My nightmare is a collector/dealer deciding to destroy some of an artist's work in order to up the price on what's left.  I heard rumors about a cagey dealer doing this in the '90s, but I'm pretty sure it didn't happen.

@Artless...that happens with certain store variants...there are minimums with the publisher...say, 1000 copies...store will then pulp 900 copies...so they can have something even more limited

It's sad to me to see Buscema drawings or Krenkel drawings cut from a large page of sketches when there's a partial drawing on the reverse side that got cut in half...

@Artless...I've had a lot of James Jean art, where there's partial art on the back side...because paper has been cut down...

@artless I seriously doubt a dealer did that with OA. There’s one simpler way to create the same impression is just put the art in the closet and not show it.  Better than destroying the art
