@Felix I get how the system can be strange the first time someone tries for a page, but those of us who have been at it for a while have no problem with it. Just don’t ever listen to the yahoo’s asking for an auction format. I’ll never win another piece lol

Ok so totally off topic, but does anyone have any tips on smoking on a Kamado grill?  I got one for Christmas and am trying to smoke a chicken right now.

The only thing I dislike, and this isn’t unique to you Felix, is that prices don’t stay listed after a piece is sold and don’t get posted before the sale. I can’t say I fully understand that practice. I’m sure there’s a reason for it, I just can’t think of a good reason for it :)

@Jacob...it's just the way the website is set up. That data is stored, though, and is viewable via CAF Market Data.

Just to be clear...I have no problem at all with Disgruntled voting with his wallet. If the system doesn't work for him, then it doesn't work for him. Totally OK with that.

@ Andy Robbins cleangone. I had a commisssion with another dealer that the artist finished in December 2019. I know because the artist posted it on his IG. It took the dealer/rep nine months to ship it to me!  They tried to blame the pandemic and when I explained that I live in the area that at the time was most crushed by covid, they then blamed shipping supplies availability.

@Andy advocates for going auction format for the most highly sought-after pieces. I see where he's coming from, but I've resisted the idea to this point.

@felix Oh I didn’t know that. That CAF data is available to anyone? And what do you think about listing prices the day before? Or even an hour before? I didn’t mind having to jump on pieces and miss out with the email system, but I do get stressed out wondering whether a particular piece is worth the price in a split second. Again, I know other sites do this too and I have the same question for them.

@Jacob...everything-- the art, the prices-- is revealed at the drop. I understand it can be a split-second decision. You gotta got with your comfort level. That's how I approach other drops, as well, myself.

@andy/cleangone I bought a Dustin Nguyen mystery pack that included a page from Descender earlier this year and was happy with the outcome... it’s an interesting idea, but I would only do it if I knew what issues the art was from (which I did) and had some sort of guarantee that the pages included main characters (which, again, Dustin disclosed)

@Felix, your system works. I have missed out on a lot of artwork, but have also gotten a lot of artwork. I don’t even have a computer. I use my phone or ipad. You win some you lose some.

people act like other dealers you have a better chance. Really???  I can think of two dealers that the good stuff NEVER makes it to their website. Why? They call favored collectors and they get first crack

@Jacob sometimes I think that, too. I have to come to terms with the price and take my customary deep breath/look in the mirror before I can spend upwards of 3k on anything, and it has cost me a couple times. Part of the learning curve, I'm telling myself. Just have to be ready to go and come to terms with the budget I have going in. Hope that gets easier over time!
