I’ve never been able To bring myself to sell a page, much to the detriment of my bank account.
Keith

@Gene Park, do you really think that the demographic cycle will really matter long term to the comic art market? At least as it pertains to the truly great material out there... This is a small hobby, and it doesn't take a high proportion of young nerds to keep the comic book / art loving population at current levels, or even growing. Even if most kids just watch the movies, real nerds are always going to be real nerds and will continue to seek out further source material.

@felix...'resourceful, persistent and maniacal' is a great description of the collector mentality.
matt c
2:15
@Felix Lu great! I've listened to them all several times whilst delivering mail and daydreaming about my future art purchases
SimonB
2:15
Hey @Felix. You moved?
Felix Lu
2:15
Hey @SimonB! Is this the "Simon B" that I think you are??
2:16
Yes, I was on East Coast for a year...now back on West Coast!
Cale
2:16
To bring things back around... Whoever got the Little Bird Tradd Moore variant cover must be on cloud nine.
Felix Lu
2:16
@Cale...Tradd gifted it to the writer. I'll post a scan soon...it's gorgeous!
Reba
2:16
@matt c...good question. I miss the podcasts too.
Mike Perlman
2:16
Hey Felix! I am looking forward to the Tradd SILVER SURFER BLACK #5 announcement. Hope to get a page. I sent you an email about a mis-numbered page you have up on #4.
Felix Lu
2:17
Hi @Mike...thanks! I'll fix it when I can!
Chris F
2:17
@Morgan I feel you.  I would only consider reselling if it was to enable a more desired purchase, not just for idle profit
Felix Lu
2:17
@Chris F...yes, I would only redeploy funds for other art...nothing else would be worth it.
SimonB
2:17
@Felix. Not sure! (caf handle LBJefferies)
Felix Lu
2:18
Yup! Hey Simon...you OK from the fires? I always think of you when this shit happens...
Cale
2:18
@Felix 💓 That's lovely.
Keith
2:18
@Gene Park Con't: couple that with a very inelastic supply, and a very elastic demand. And i think we've still only seen the beginning of the insanity. Anyway, my thoughts, and I've often wondered what your response is to that line of thinking
Reba
2:18
@morgan...I hear you. I've only sold one page and still regret it a bit. The only saving grace is I know the page I bought with the funds is even more special to me.
Mike Perlman
2:18
@felix Just thought you would want to know. Can't wait to see what the Tradd surprise is...
Cale
2:19
@morgan That's a good way of looking at it
Jason K
2:20
@reba disgraceful! Jk
SimonB
2:20
@Felix Yup all clear here. No power for 5 days but we were all clear from the fires, thankfully
Cale
2:20
@Reba Great point
Morgan
2:20
@felix back in the Ian Bertram topic, are we going to see his variant cover for something is killing the children? I’m dying to see a scan of the original
Felix Lu
2:20
@Morgan...hopefully soon! Ian will send with next batch of completed commissions...so whenever that happens...
Keith
2:20
@Felix, I'm glad the podcast isn't dying. It's my single favorite podcast. Matt C thankyou for asking that question.
Reba
2:20
@jasonk lol
Jason K
2:20
@simonB you're in norcal?
Felix Lu
2:21
Thanks @keith, matt, and everyone else...podcast is a labor of love, for sure...very grateful to friends like Gene for making it fun...and actually, Jason will be on it very soon, too!
SimonB
2:22
@Jason K Yup I am. Napa area

@Keith Longer-term, I think demographics absolutely do matter.   Peoples' interests have been splintered into so many different directions over the past 25 years and comics have been a net loser as a result, even as the properties have become bigger than ever.  I don't see the imperative of people wanting to seek out the source material, at least not in the same numbers as the Baby Boomers/Gen Xers/Early Millennials.

Ours is a small hobby/market, yes, and it's seductive to think that the interest and money will be there in the future, but, I just think about all the art that will turn over in the next, say, 30 years, and who is going to clear the market then.  Just don't see it happening

@Chris F @Felix Sorry, what I meant was that I hope I wasn’t stepping on Felix’s toes by directing someone to eBay to buy Ian Bertram art, thus taking sales away from Felix, sort to speak. If this seller made any profit, I’d say it was marginal, unless Felix sold Little Bird pages super cheap.
Felix Lu
2:23
@John...no sales taken away from me...all the pages were already all sold out! Every single one!
Jason K
2:23
@simonB cool. Stay safe up there! SF over here
Cale
2:23
Everyone seems to still love Southern Bastards (present company included). Has anybody heard when it's returning? Been over a year now.
Felix Lu
2:24
@Cale...it's a shame. These guys seem to be able to manage a schedule at Marvel...but not on their own.
Reba
2:24
@morgan...shhh, don't make everyone take notice of that Something is Killing the Children cover! Lol.
SimonB
2:24
completely agree with @Gene Park
Felix Lu
2:25
@SimonB...ultimately, how many of us care about what our parents liked? It doesn't really matter to me, though, either way. I've made my peace with that a long time ago. I just enjoy collecting. Life is short.
