@MikeH...whatever is going to happen, is going to happen, as far as this hobby is concerned. It's a hobby, I don't lose any sleep over it.
MikeH

@joe l totally agree. I bought an issue from Felix myself last year down by Filipe Andrade, one of my favorites.
Wow, autocorrect is crushing me.  😂

Pat L! I did , haha! Three way trades are fun. Here’s a question. Are the 00’s next? With the 80s and 90s art blowing up now, it seems logical the 00’s boom should happen in the next 10 years of collecting. The readership was much less, though, so maybe the nostalgia factor isn’t there. This is what I’ve been going back and forth on lately. Will the wave of $$$ flow into the 00’s art?

thanks Nick P! i will lookfor kubert influence in your work now

so, to bring it back to mike a bit. i know there have been solo exhibits in the past... does this sw8 also prove that its time for him to be spotlighted again? to look at his career and celebrate it again... a la solo exhibit or series of "homage" covers with publishers or artist editions dedicated to just him?
MikeH
2:06
@Nick P I could definitely see it as it’s only a matter of time. Guys like Joe Mad are coming due.
JasonK
2:06
@nick P imagine 90s art becomes the peak of the OA market. That would be disgusting and hilarious
Chuck Costas
2:06
@Brett...there currently IS an exhibit that I'm curating that is at Ringling College in Sarasota, FL. There has already been an AE dedicated solely to him. Of course, we do hope for more in the future!
MikeH
2:06
@Brett F Zeck is definitely worthy of an exhibit. Insane influence at one of the most influential times in comics.

@MikeH…. Wonderful artist to have a complete issue from. His panels have that stoic, yet graceful movement to them. He has a certain quality that only European artists seem to be able to capture. Like Bilquis.

2:07
@JasonK hahaha it would!

@Felix - Off-topic question - so I just finished watching the first and only season of YTLM. I enjoyed it more than most. As the series was in development did you get asked to sell your cover? Or maybe it’s a matter of how often?
Felix Lu
2:07
@Guest...please sign in with your name! (Or is this BKV??)
2:08
I actually don't get asked about my art much these days. I think most people know I'm not a seller. Or that it would just take too obscene a number to pry anything away.
brett feschuk
2:08
know about the one AE, but didnt know about the ringling one... will research that. i would like to see him benefit as much as possible from the exposure that these types of sale/events garner...

I'm more than willing to take the exhibit on the road, if you know of any museums willing to sponsor.

@Felix Ugh sorry I had refreshed and it took my name off. This is John Espinoza asking the YTLM question.
MikeH
2:09
@Joe L Yup. Big fan. Love the issue.
Pat L
2:09
with the YTLM series dying on the vine, probably won't push OA much.  but those covers are so iconic
Felix Lu
2:10
@PatL...I don't think movie/tv adaptations move the needle nearly as much with OA as it used to (excluding MCU). YTLM will matter going forward relative to how many more new readers it attracts, IMO.
John Espinoza
2:10
@Felix Yeah I was thinking that — collectors should know that you don’t sell. I guess I was wondering if someone new in the hobby dared ask :)
brett feschuk
2:11
it may have been mentioned in the podcast, but fyi

@Felix - yup agree that story has to stand on it's own
MikeH
2:15
I don't expect to see another sale as large as SW8 in the near future, but I do hope if frees up other pieces that have been locked away in black holes.
Felix Lu
2:16
@MikeH...I do expect we will see some long-buried treasure emerge to the surface
MikeH
2:16
That said, the next few auctions will be telling.
2:17
@Felix I have heard rumors so fingers are crossed.
John Espinoza
2:17
@Chuck I wish I had a question for you but I think you covered everything in the podcast. Just want to say thank you for exhibiting your art. I saw the Raw Fury show in my first year as a collector. Little did I realize how infrequently I would see such historic art all in one place.
Chuck Costas
2:17
@John Thank you, that was a great show.
Pat L
2:17
@Chuck Costas - the exhibit looks great!  must have been a lot of work to set up?
Chuck Costas
2:18
@PatL Exhibits take a few months to organize. Now that I've done a few of them, though, they've become easier.

Hey Chuck, if you are on the road and make it Austin, TX.  LMK.  Last time I saw you was in Rosslyn VA
I have a good friend that is a prof at Ringling.  I'll make sure he checks it out
Chuck Costas

I miss the DC area and all the collectors there.
MikeH

Is anyone planning on visiting the Columbus leg of the Marvel exhibit starting in Nov 6?
Felix Lu
2:25
OK guys, we're winding down...any last questions/comments?
Grant Riddle

Thanks for the chat. Was only able to jump in and out. Always interesting.
