@Dylan...glad you know how to read the tea leaves!
Francis
2:22
@DanT makes sense. I mean look, it will be really interesting to see if they ever open up an IPO on a high end comic art piece. The hold up is that the art has always been that it has to be really valuable enough to be broken up into shares that arent penny stocks etc
Felix Lu
2:23
@Francis...that first appearance Miles Morales cover would be a good candidate for this!
Chris B
2:24
depending on what stages of the art were digital you could maybe run a gif from pencil > ink > colours or have separate nfts for each of those parts
Felix Lu
2:24
@Chris...yes, those are all possibilities!
Francis
2:24
@FelixLu EXACTLY

@Felix keeping an open mind :)

Is matias thinking of opening up any more spots?
Felix Lu
2:25
@John...sorry, list is way beyond full. Backup list is totally full as well.
Dan T

@Francis - They've got an $18k pair of Jordans, a $79k copy of Pokemon Yellow... they can put comic art on there, I think.

I coincidentally went down the cryptoart rabbit hole for the first time only a week ago after admiring something by Filip Hodas on Twitter. Now looking forward to sitting back and just letting @felix explain the finer details.
Felix Lu
2:26
@Jason...I'm a beginner in this, too. Just know the basics! But no shortage of info online...maybe too much!
Francis
2:26
@DanT i'm surprised why they haven't

Hi Felix and everyone
Felix Lu

Hi @Mike!

If you can't say anything I understand, but I'm wondering if James Harren will have a commission list in 2021? Also, I'm guessing Yuko Shimizu doesn't have time for commissions, but I would love to get something from her someday.
Felix Lu
2:29
Hi @Robert...less than 50/50 on James...probably less than that for Yuko...both just too busy!
Chuck

will do @felix it's going to be interesting seeing this market play out, ultimately should be good for the artists involved. I think artists like Paul Pope, Nick Pitarra and Ian Bertram will have great success in crypto art

Hey Felix and all.

Hi everyone!
Chris B
2:30
the whole crypto art/NFT thing is still in it’s infancy, lots of exciting possibilities ahead
Dan T
2:31
@Francis Maybe they don't see depth of market?  Feels like if they got the right piece, people would chase it quickly.  Are people trying to avoid the "investment" aspect?  No idea.  I just don't like the idea that they're setting that Pokemon Yellow game's market cap on what was probably their purchase of it from Heritage.  It's like a self-fulfilling market.  I bought for this, so now it's worth this, when none of the other recent Heritage sales are near that.
Felix Lu
2:32
@Dan T...none of what's been going with trading cards appears to be tethered to any sort of reason or logic. Hell, comic art seems practically sane by comparison!
Dan T
2:32
Any chance for a Leslie Hung commission list this year?
Felix Lu
2:32
@Dan T...just waiting for Leslie to give me the go signal!
Ben H
2:32
Felix, thanks again BTW for passing on that request to JJ.  We'll see if you hear back.
Felix Lu
2:32
@Ben H...I did hear back! He said to check back later! LOL!!!

@Felix Dis you see the article on crypto currency and crypto art by Rob Salkowitz on ICV2 yesterday? Good intro. https://icv2.com/articles/columns/view/47599/decrypting-booming-collec...
Felix Lu
2:33
@Mike...I did not! Thanks for the link! I know Rob, he's very on top of pop culture trends, especially.
Dan T
2:33
@Felix - I know exactly what I'd get from Leslie after a recent Twitch stream.  So much for focusing on published art this year.

If anyone is curious about Cryptoart School of motion did a great podcast on it with beeple called: Crypto Art - Fame and Fortune, with Mike "Beeple" Winkelmann it's on the School of motion website

digital art is definitely interesting - on its face, seems to amplify the  artists vision. early digital art seemed to lack the soul of classic pencil/ink, but now the extra effort and techniques result in interesting story-telling that would be tough to convey with traditional methods

Hi @guest...please sign in with your name, thanks!

Felix, Ha!  Well, you'll hear from me again in a few months I guess.

Messing around and found this NFT primer.  The fact there's a site called Thomas Crown is hilarious.

@Dan T...parsing info online is hard, since it's all from the cryptobull perspective. So...keep digging.
Ben H
2:36
Felix, so spill the beans.  Who amongst your artists can we expect to see "cryptoart" from in the near future?
Felix Lu
2:37
@Ben H...you're free to guess! But I'm not saying...yet!
