Hola Felix!
Rob R

howdy!
Felix Lu
4:14
Hey guys! Man, you're right on this!
Rob R

I'm curious, did the NFT platforms mention which PoS chains they were considering?
Felix Lu
4:15
@Rob...yes, including new ones.
4:16
But established platforms mostly holding out for ETH2, as it's been the pre-dominant currency in the NFT space.
Mikail
4:16
Evening all.

Hey Mikail
Tobin
4:16
Hello everyone!
Mathew

I just wanted to say THANK YOU for reconsidering getting into NFTs. It feels like so many creatives are ignoring the environmental impact, and I've had to unfollow some of my favorite artists as they get more and more into NFTs.
Felix Lu
4:18
@Mathew...no need to thank me. But appreciated.

Hi Felix! Hi All!
Tobin
4:20
Felix i really respect your choice to step back on NFTs.  That must have been a tough business decision.
Felix Lu
4:21
Hi Tobin...thanks. Not really that tough. There was nothing particularly compelling about cryto art to me. I did think it was a boon for digital artists, but that doesn't really concern us, for the most part. The digital artists are the one who really have to wrestle with this.

How many trees did Jack Kirby kill :-) Boo NFTs, luddite 4 life
Felix Lu
4:22
Haha! Me, too.
Fellow Luddite!

It was definitely interesting learning about all facets of the situation

I have been following this loosely and listened in on your youtube video on CAF. None of it made me want to participate in this new form of digital ownership, but it certainly opened my eyes to some possibilities. I guess what I want to know is your thoughts on DC's big announcement after Jose Delbo cleaned up on some Wonder Woman related NFT's
Felix Lu
4:24
@Benno...like I've said over and over, cryto/digital assets/NFTs are not for me. Zero interest. Only looked into NFTs as something that might benefit the artists. Even then, knew Marvel/DC properties were off-limits. So not surprised at all about DC's announcement. Except for maybe that it took so long (Delbo had been selling DC-related NFTs since last year).

Hi Felix, everybody!

The stories of what miners will do for cryptoconsumption is notorius
Mikail
4:24
What do you guys see the pricing being on Grampa’s drop on Friday?
Felix Lu
4:25
@Mikail...not cheap!!
Francis
4:25
So i don't blame you. Also pricing is volatile

Hey everyone!
Felix Lu
4:25
Just to catch up...hi everyone!

Hello! I still don't understand how artists are going to be able to keep their art from being used for NFTs even if they haven't given permission. For me, that is another huge reason to boycott and encourage fans / patrons to boycott. Unauthorized use of art reminds me of all the copyright infringement on sites like TeePublic, Redbubble, Etsy, Shirtless, etc.
Felix Lu
4:27
@Robert Coleman...it really is the Wild West. The remedy to what you're saying is that the actual artist could mint a token of their art that's been bootlegged. In which case, as the creator, their token would be the only one that matters. But of course, that would mean they would have to become involved with NFTs. I really don't know how that will play out, though. I imagine we'll be finding out soon enough.

Good for you Felix! I looked into Bitcoin mining 5 years ago, and the environmental impact of Bitcoin and other crypto turned me off, too. I’d love to have a fatter wallet today, but supporting server farms that produce a digital currency seems like a real waste. Love that comic artists care so much about environmental impact. It takes real determination and selflessness to walk away from a guaranteed big payday.

I could have gotten into Bitcoin 10 years ago. One of my former college roommates was all about it, and saying we should just throw the equivalent of a steak dinner at it. Passed. No regrets.

Just for the record, all of our artists have stepped away. However, the one artist who was already scheduled for a drop, really did walk away from life-changing money. Again, all the respect in the world to him.

4:31
@Felix any thoughts on DC's response to NFTs? It has me a bit worried. Seemed to border on claiming artists can't sell their own art
Felix Lu
4:32
@Rob...it really appears to be limited to digital reproduction/NFTs. Not paper. But who knows how this will end up. I don't assume anything.
Tariq
4:32
Hopefully one of the alternative NFT platforms will have a better more eco-friendly solution...
Felix Lu
4:33
@Tariq...they're all trying to become greener. They'll never be completely green, but creatives are compelling change. For better or for worse, I expect both sides to eventually meet in the middle. I don't see NFTs going away.
4:34
The NFT art bubble will likely burst at some point. But the tech isn't going away.
Francis
4:34
DC is already in the NFT market. They cut a deal with platform called Veve
