Hey Felix. Hope all is well. Trying to figure out how to convince my wife to let me spend part of the stimulus check on art!
Felix Lu
10:35
Good luck with that, lol!
Keith B
10:35
"I am completely bummed it had to be postponed" ... me too man
John Butler
10:35
Hey Felix. I'm supposed to be on a Zoom call right now, this is probably going to be more fun.
Felix Lu
10:35
JOHN!!
Andy robbins
10:35
Cliff is working on a new project that he’s drawing and writing, right?
Felix Lu
10:35
@Andy...yes...it's a doozy...you, especially, are going to love it.
Michele
10:35
Hi all! I'm glad to see the support with the Jim Lee auctions and other artists. Humberto Ramos has one going I think.
Matthew Birdoff

nomination: Artyom Trakhanov
Felix Lu
10:36
Artyom is very talented!
Francis C
10:36
i feel a lot of these charity auctions carry inflated prices because people are paying for both the art and the cause. It’s not the type of art you want to be cheap on because you are supporting a greater good
Felix Lu
10:36
Very true. Which is fine...it's for charity.
Jason K

Be no - virtual is always an option these days!
John Espinoza

Hey Felix and fellow collectors! So Felix, I had the pleasure of meeting Jeffrey Alan Love at a library con here in San Antonio. Got to chat with him and sit in on his presentation. How he finishes his to-be-published pieces in his smallish sketchbook is insane. I got to hold one and flip through. I’d be so nervous traveling with that thing!
Felix Lu
10:37
The absolute most insane sketchbook I've ever seen: Ian Bertam's. But Jeffrey is probably #2.
Dan T
10:37
Hey @Benno119!  Hope life gets normal enough for Dragon Con to happen!
Jason K
10:37
Hey Andy!
Malvin
10:37
wow, even Andy is here
Matthew Birdoff
10:37
I joined a few patreons, nothing unusual beyond that re: buying

Killing time at the airport flying into MA - the neighbor of the beast
Tyler T
10:37
I have a question for everybody regarding storage of all these beautiful pieces. Has anybody found a more cost efficient way to keep your pages safe than using a gun safe?
Felix Lu
10:38
@Tyler...good question. I'm a safe guy, but I know others, like Andy R, have other methods.
Morgan
10:38
@Dan it’s been very difficult to choose who to commission with so many artists opening lists, especially those that don’t normally take them.
Malvin
10:38
I got a bunch of cold inquires lately, I assume people just have more time on their hands or its stimulus or tax refund oney
Newell
10:38
@Dan doesn't look like i"m going to any cons this summer. So I got one bigger commission recently.
Andy K
10:38
I have been upping the pace. Not paying for train pass or restaurants in NYC. Sadly many lost jobs but if  you kept yours and work from home, take home actually increased. plus hella bored, more time to search!
Francis C
10:38
I feel I have receded a bit. But that being said it becomes harder and harder to find novel things to add to your collection as it grows
Jason K
10:38
I think I was buying more commissions leading up to everything but seeing as so many artists are opening up lists, trying to be patient with those I've been waiting on a while
Hi John B!
Andy robbins
10:38
hey mikel & victor - are one of you one of my fellow dwindling Lazarus fans?
John Butler
10:38
Im supposed to be on a Zoom call now, Haha.
Joao Antunes
10:39
Hi Felix and hi everybody, hope everyone and your families are alright and hopefuly everyone can keep safe until this situation we are living is nothing more than a bad nightmare
Keith B
10:39
i think Jim's prices got bigger when he announced they'd be published... but i also think that people are willing to spend more on the charity aspect
Felix Lu
10:39
@Keith...definitely. Once everyone knew the art would be published-- TWICE-- that changed the equation dramatically. Smart move!
John Butler
10:40
@Tyler, get the safe, you want be sorry.
Felix Lu
10:40
@Tyler...listen to John.
Newell
10:40
@Tyler mine are laying about in a portfolio. I should probably look into something a little more long term. lol
Francis C
10:40
My art is guarded by an ancient spell, a mutant pug, and a baby Yoda drunk on white claw with two lightsabers.
Brent Stringer
10:40
When can we expect a new episode of the podcast?
Felix Lu
10:41
@Brent...not sure...although I do expect to have a few more up this year...will probably explain on future episode why our schedule became erratic...
Connecting…

@felix I'm halfway through the currently available Mort Cinder hardcover.  The stories are so-so for me, but the visual style and storytelling are wonderful for my taste, and I think are considered groundbreaking in their day by the cognoscenti.
