@Joren: Another person with a nice set of Harrens on CAF is here: http://www.comicartfans.com/galleryroom.asp?gsub=132351 (check out the BPRD team one at the end)
Felix Lu

Shannon's got a great Harren collector, for sure. Another collector to look up on CAF is Paul McInnes.
Reba J

@joren - Yep, they are just phone photos!

I always started high (because I wasn't sure where to start) and enabled best offers. I would love some advice. Not trying to rip anyone off of course but didn't want to just let it go, you know?
Felix Lu
2:01
The problem with starting it that high is that it's so above a realistic value, that most people just won't even bother to engage.
2:02
So, either you want to sell it, or you don't. If you want to sell, then sell. Meaning, put it up at $1 and let it ride. Let the market decide. If you're trying to get $900+ for it...then you don't really want to sell.
Josh Hall
2:03
What is more realistic?
Felix Lu
2:03
Honestly, I think $100 would be doing quite well already.
Josh Hall
2:03
I was always afraid to auction for the fear of getting too little
Felix Lu
2:03
What's too little?
Too little based on what?
2:04
My guess is that was a freebie. Kirkman's done a LOT of those. There are a lot of them out there. Even if there weren't...it's just a doodle.
No offense, just keeping it real.

looking forward to the drop tomorrow but $70 for international shipping is seriously steep - I get posters sent over for $12!
Felix Lu
2:06
$70 is a lot...but that's what the postage costs. That's what USPS charges for Express Mail International service. You can verify from the postage sticker on the package. At very least, it's still quite a bit cheaper than FedEx.
All art is shipped flat, not rolled.

@jeff thanks for mentioning, wonderful collection indeed, @reba might as well do that too then,  quality looks good
Jeff
2:07
@Felix Thanks for the heads up. That's a nice collection!
Felix Lu

Thanks Jeff!

I bought the issue from Ultimate Comics and happened upon that signing as it was 1.5 hours away. Went through the line once and he did the little sketch on the front and then once it died down I went through again and asked him to do the Zombie Captain America. So yeah, only cost for me was the comic plus the gas there and back. He humored me. And he wasn't quite as hard to get to back in 2011 haha
And no offense taken! I'm learning and honestly appreciate the back and forth.
Felix Lu

<thumbs up>
Fitz

I just wouldn't use USPS - I get flat prints from Mondo shipped for $12 via DHL - still I will still go for it, it just adds a lot to the cost
Felix Lu
2:11
I get it, believe me. But weighing all factors, I use USPS. I have found it the most reliable service for the price. I ship thousands of packages through them every year. I personally take each package to my local post office. I don't anticipate switching, barring any major changes.
Fitz
2:11
would love to know the format for tomorrow's drop as I haven't bought from you before - is there a cart system or how does it work? sorry if already covered earlier
Felix Lu
2:11
Covered at the beginning of the chat...scroll up! If you still have more questions, feel free to ask.
Fitz
2:12
will do thanks

If anybody has not yet seen Nick Pitarra's Patreon I would suggest you check it out. It is an absolute steal to get some of his art! His art is top notch
Felix Lu
2:15
It's ridiculous how much he's putting into his Patreon. It's not easy providing that much content-- believe me, I know! He's created another full-time job for himself.
2:17
But any platform that can be used to get his art seen, is welcome. Especially his LEVIATHAN art. Some of his strongest work yet. At C2E2, other pros (including Geof Darrow!) made the trip to his table to check it out. It's special.  It's not just the hyper-detail he's become famous for...he's actually taking real chances with the art form. I look forward to the book's release and everyone getting the chance to see for themselves.

Felix have you considered showing the pieces before the release?
Felix Lu
2:18
I will do that on occasion. I've posted a complete issue of art on Twitter for several titles. But not for 200+ pieces, sorry!

One last thought on Harren....  Im dying to post my Death or Glory art on my CAF page, but feel I should wait until the comic release date.  Am I just torturing myself?
Felix Lu
2:20
The image has already been shared online by Rick Remender, so no need to wait! But nice of you to think of that!
Josh Hall
2:20
I second this!
Felix Lu
2:20
I presume for Nick's Patreon...

@Fitz - I'm an international person who gets hit with the high shipping costs too. Makes you think how much the art costs compared to the shipping or plan to organise stuff like shipping multiple pieces together. There is some cheaper shipping around but it's slower and differently packaged. Felix's stuff arrives super fast and is packaged in such a way that you will never be at risk of a bent corner on your art or a squished box.
Felix Lu
2:21
That's right. I'll hold onto art for international buyers until they accumulate multiple pieces to ship at once. That's one way to cut down on shipping costs.
Mase
2:21
Are there cover pieces included in tomorrow’s art drop?
Felix Lu
2:22
There will be one...
Reba J
2:22
Bye everyone, thanks for the chat. Better get to work (It's early in the AM tomorrow where I am).

I think it's a good balance though, as you can easily change composition for example

I'm not sure. Not having it listed properly so it doesn't show to people properly.
