There you go, Michael...just ask nicely...
Matt Todd
1:32
Hi Felix, are there any books, magazine's or resources you would recommend to learning more about the original art hobby? I still can't find a copy of that article Glen Gold  wrote for Playboy about OA.
Felix Lu
1:34
So much of this hobby's history is passed on via oral tradition! Very little actually written down. But that Glen Gold article from PLAYBOY is definitely worth finding. Just a fantastic read (even if I'm not a fan of all the subjects/people detailed within it).
1:35
There was a book published many years ago called GRAIL PAGES. I believe you can find on Amazon. I commend the author for his efforts, but...didn't find much significant value in it. VERY basic stuff, even for newbies.
1:36
The CFA-APA published a couple of "Best of" volumes called "GIANT-SIZED FAN THING" within the last 10 years...those are worth seeking.
That's about all I can think of off the top of my head.
Joren
1:36
@reba can I ask how many pages/work you own from Harren? Just curious
Felix Lu
1:37
I'll answer this question for Reba: Not enough!
Matt Todd
1:37
Thanks! I am trying to track down a copy of "GIANT-SIZED FAN THING" as well
Jeff
1:37
@reba (and at @Joren) I was just looking through your Harren's on CAF earlier this morning
Reba J
1:39
@Joren - I own both too many Harren pages and not enough. It's a mixed feeling peculiar to this hobby.
Joren
1:41
@Matt my opinion on buying is: buy what you love and what you can afford, (maybe set up a price maximum for yourself). Those are my 'rules' when looking for original art
@jeff I just made a caf account 10 minutes ago, will upload soon!
Reba J
1:41
@Jeff - hey thanks for visiting my collection.

Any new artist joining Felix Comic Art team?
Felix Lu
1:42
Yes.
Joren
1:42
@reba I see hah, well as long as you love the pages you own I think you're good :D
Josh Hall
1:43
I need to make one but don’t have a scanner. Although, I don’t own a ton.
Felix Lu
1:43
Scanner is most ideal, but phone pics will work, too! For many, many years, I just took pics with a digital camera to upload to CAF.
Chris
1:45
When will we hear about the new artist(s) that will joining your team?
Felix Lu
1:45
Soon!
1:46
Sorry to be cryptic, but actually more than one artist will be joining us. Will announce when everyone's ready!
Josh Hall
1:46
@Matt Todd, I think I found what you're looking for? https://www.cgccomics.com/boards/topic/52099-anybody-here-read-glen-go... one pic at a time by scourge456789-migration
Felix Lu
1:47
That's it! But may not be all of it, as it was formatted unusually. And man...that's so small.
1:48
I've talked to Glen about reproducing it so that it can be read on the web, but there are copyright concerns, as PLAYBOY owns the article.
Reba J
1:48
@Joren - yep I really love the pieces I own. Had some people try to buy a couple of Harren pieces from me but no deal. No question.
Matt Todd
1:48
@Josh Hall Thank You!!!
Joren
1:48
@reba looking through your caf, jealous on that lying cat commish you got! Nothing from rumble? Also, that Nick Dragotta east of west cover, that's a beautiful thing phew
Jeff
1:48
@Joren: I just started my CAF account a day or two ago (finally got my hands on a scanner)
@Reba: thanks for posting them. I love those Thor pages
Josh Hall
1:50
Lol, yeah. Maybe the right zoom tool
Felix Lu
1:53
My buddy Yams bought that issue of PLAYBOY off eBay just to read the article. For once, the article excuse was true!
Joren
1:53
@jeff nice!
@reba buoy won't get any requests from me don't worry ;) the only person I will buy from is Felix
Reba J
1:53
@Joren - don't worry, all the Harren books will be represented in my collection over time. Gotta win lotto!
Joren
1:56
You* won't..., I really should reread what I type before I send hah
Josh Hall
1:56
Any opinion on writers doing sketches? https://www.ebay.com/itm/112331975654?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksi... I got this done by Robert Kirkman years ago. Really dig it but have been trying to sell for other pieces I want. I guess the right person hasn't come along.
Felix Lu
1:58
Writers doing sketches can be fun. I have a couple of Kirkman quickies in WD hardcovers, myself.
1:59
But...I believe that's aggressively priced. Your right to ask whatever you want, but I don't think there's a buyer out there at $900+ for that.
Joren
1:59
@reba you already won (in my eyes) with all those wonderful pages
Also @reba, do you take pics or do you scan them? They look like pics

I think it's a good balance though, as you can easily change composition for example

I'm not sure. Not having it listed properly so it doesn't show to people properly.
