@Tim D, that’s awesome and Chew quickly became my favorite book once I was introduced to gateway Image books TWD and Invincible but Chew is and remains my fave book.
Jimmy Lawrence
10:50
Hey everybody!
Tim D
10:50
@Josh I'm sure you have Farmhand pre-ordered. Looking forward to that. :)
Felix Lu
10:50
Hey Jimmy!
Chaz West
10:52
TBH i've been creeping on some Ramon Villalobos pages for like ever, i think pay day will be the day i finally pull the trigger and pick one up
Felix Lu
10:53
Haha! Well, feel free to write me directly if you have any questions about Ramon's art!
Just curious...what's holding you back?
Josh Hall
10:53
@Tim D, Now my tastes are really narrowed down: anything by Rob Guillory, anything by Ed Brubaker/Sean Phillips/Elizabeth Breitweiser and the combo of John Layman and Nick Pitarra really has me excited for Leviathan so I will be looking for art from that!
Felix Lu
10:54
Did you get the ashcan? It's the complete first issue. I have some copies that I'll be giving away with purchase of the art once it becomes available!
Josh Hall
10:54
Pitarra’s passion is what’s really intrigued me and my god his detail!! I’m blown away.
Felix Lu
10:54
The original art is all oversized, too...it's nuts. Collectors will love it.
Matt Todd
10:54
@Chaz as an owner of several pages by Ramon I can tell you, you won’t regret it. The detail he puts into every page is incredible. You will really admire the craftsmanship and detail.
Josh Hall
10:55
@Felix, yep I sure did! Can’t wait till July!
Felix Lu
10:57
Pretty great, right? First issue is all set-up...but what a set-up! Nick went next level, not just with detail, but with layouts. Really sets LEVIATHAN apart from the crowd, both as a book, and as art (for us!).
Tim D
10:57
I'm looking forward to Leviathan for sure. By the time I started dealing the Felix most MP art was picked through. Did Nick ever sell the Red Wing stuff?
Felix Lu
11:03
Man...MP art sold like crazy back then. I mean, everything. Those were the first complete issues I sold. I think it was 5 or 6 complete issues within the first 10 issues I had. I have no doubt if I was able to get more of the early prime art, that it would still move fast.
Nick did sell some of the RED WING stuff before I repped him; I don't know how much of it he has left.

money and space, but i can not drink beer for a week so i can buy some art.
but i think its mostly where do i start. i have a few con pieces and i think it just time to get real with starting to collect art
Felix Lu
11:04
Well...if you are truly interested in collecting, then just jump in with a piece. Doesn't matter how small. Just get one and see how you feel about it.
11:05
There's a good chance you'll start liking it more than beer, though, so that's a risk you'll have to accept!
Jimmy Lawrence
11:05
What's cooking everyone?  I'm holding off on commissions and OA purchases (best I can!) while waiting for summer con season.  The struggle is real!  Avoiding Ebay and auction sites has been key!
Felix Lu
11:06
Yup...we all gotta make those choices. What cons are on your schedule, and which artists are you looking to get something from at those shows?
Josh Hall
11:06
@Felix, oh yes Could not agree more. He will be making issue 1 stuff available on the site, right?
Felix Lu
11:06
Yes!!
Josh Hall
11:10
Nice!
Matt Todd
11:10
@Jimmy and @Felix  I am right there with you but I am failing miserably particularly with Jim Aparo Batman art hitting Heritage this month. It been some really tough decisions. And I am hitting SDCC this year after taking a year off. As to what I am hoping to pick up, well that is going to become clear when Felix announces his SDCC plans and line up. I keeping my eye on Mr. Geoff Shaw and his availablity.
Felix Lu
11:11
Matt...it's looking like we'll have a pretty killer lineup for SDCC. Can't confirm any names yet...but I'm excited!
Jimmy Lawrence
11:11
Heroes in June and Cincinatti in the fall.  Never been to Cincy but looking forward to it!
Matt Todd
11:12
CAN. NOT. WAIT!!!
Jimmy Lawrence
11:14
Yeah, Matt-when certain OA hits you just have to go for it!  Aparo Batman stuff is understandable for sure.  *This hobby has a lot of "tough decisions" but it's what you make it
Felix Lu
11:16
I find that whenever I miss something, or lose out on something (and I've had some absolute heartbreakers over the years), that it helps to flip through the art I do have and appreciate that.
Tim D
11:16
I wish I had more cash when Andrew MacLean sold some creator owned art last year. He has been fairly tight fisted with that stuff thus far.
Felix Lu
11:17
You mean his HEAD LOPPER art?
Tim D
11:18
Head Lopper and Apocalyptigirl
Jimmy Lawrence
11:18
Very little Head Lopper art out there.  GREAT book btw tho!
Felix Lu
11:19
Was it being sold via a comic shop/gallery in LA?
If so, I don't think a lot (or at least, not all) of it sold...so you may want to check in with him to see what's still available.
Tim D
11:22
Yes was sold at a Shop called Quest. It didn't all sell but back to vault I think. Don't think it is still for sale. Doesn't hurt to ask I guess.
Matt Todd
11:23
How about you Felix any shows or artwork you are really looking forward to this summer?
