@Felix Has anyone ever offered you crazy money for a piece not yet revealed in a drop to pry it loose? Once I saw an apartment in SF I wanted but there were many people filling out applications. I took the owner aside and told her I'd pay more. The next day she offered it to me at the advertised price, I suppose because she knew I had the money.

@Ron...yes, I do get offers...but I save art for the drop. I do leave a caveat that if the number is STUPID, we'll consider it. But not our preference. Prefer to have it be available at a drop, and let everyone have a chance.

As always, the only real exception to all of this is if someone buys a complete issue.

@Felix I've listened to most of your podcast episodes (thank you!), but don't recall any that focus heavily on more modern comic art (from like 2010 - present). Any plans to do an episode focusing on the really new stuff? I'm very interested in your thoughts on collecting modern vs older art. Thanks!

@Glen...we sort of touch on modern as it relates to my own view on collecting. Which is, I can get a lot more bang for my buck with modern. And if my eye is good, I can identify the stuff that's going to be well-regarded down the line. It's almost like having a time machine. As I've said, ALL art started off as modern art!

@felix @keith I know a guy who managed to acquire a Frazetta sketch in the 80s from a buddy who needed a video camera to capture his newborn on video. A $3k video camera in the mid 80s was soon worthless with the advent of digital/phones etc. but the Fritz has appreciated...
