ALG-- because Moby Dick might be the closest thing to the *american novel* which explains which this is all about....and I have read it every decade of my life, it is a book that grows with you! LIke DUNE! ANy Dune fans?
Mikail
3:50
I’ve been doodling more as I’ve gotten deeper into collecting
Dylan
3:51
The little drawing I do is mainly for fun. I’ve been thinking about buying a Bristol printer and inking over some legends
Chris S
3:51
I just finished Dune (first book) for the first time
Tom Franck
3:51
That James Harren Dr. Who commission was pretty insane as well.
Ron
3:51
@paul, I've never read Dune. Should I read it before the movie (everyone)?
Chris S
3:51
It was staggering
Mikail
3:51
Dune for sure. World building. The first 80 pages are brilliant. Concise and full of information. Doesn’t spoon feed you.
AJ
3:51
@Paul I can draw like Keith Haring
Felix Lu
3:52
@AJ I can draw like Jackson Pollock.
Satya Chetri
3:52
@Paul mean to reread Dune this year too. Quarantine is great for rereads ( and reading new stuff of course)!
paul pope
3:52
Dyln--thank you. To me, Doom is the first and greatest hero. I love his tragic story. I love to revisit his great visage.
Dylan
3:52
I love DUNE but I’ve only read the first book
Timmy Lugini
3:52
Ty guy...and for those of you who think it's just speed...the page I got was the third one I put in for...the time spent filling out form on the first 2 didnt fail me...
Nick
3:52
@Felix Lu Thanks. I'n new to getting commissions from artist and some times struggle to pick the right character for the right artist.
Mikail
3:52
Also I Am Legend is another fantastic, tightly written book.
Ben Huang
3:52
@Paul, I doodle on rare occasion.  And mostly badly.
ALG
3:52
@paul pope - I draw.  I'm not very good at it.  I have to imitate what I see.  The good news is that I do it without tracing!  Right now, I am working on Looney Tunes characters as that is what I grew up with!
Dylan
3:52
@Ron yes read it before the movie!
Lambo
3:52
the moby dick illustrations are beautiful! congrats to the winners
Mikail
3:52
My Harren Rhino hit my most commented list in 24 hours.
Felix Lu
3:53
@Mikail...I don't care about Rhino at all. And I wanted to keep that one. Your DWJ Luke vs. Vader is another one...
Satya Chetri
3:53
@Ron definitely read the books. First three are incredible. I have heard mixed reviews about the rest so never read them.
Dylan
3:53
Doom easily has the best origin in Marvel. Maybe even in DC too
Cristian C
3:53
I second what Nick said about Harren’s commissions!
Lambo
3:53
https://www.city-journal.org/political-lessons-of-melvilles-moby-dick    this article used paul's moby dick illustrations
Felix Lu
3:53
Thanks Lambo!!
Chris S
3:53
@Mikail that Rhino is the best image ever drawn of that character
Ron
3:53
@dylan okay!
Dylan
3:53
@Mikhail that Rhino may be my favorite so far. Hard to say for sure tho!
Jason K
3:53
@mikail that's cuz you don't have anything good. i'll take your ss black pages off your hands
AJ
3:53
@ Felix Pollock was amazing. I think the key is doing something different from the norm like he and Haring did
Chris S
3:54
@Lambo, thanks!
Marcus Wai
3:54
Doom should be the first villain to have his own movie to introduce other characters into the MCU
Mikail
3:54
@felix is it confirmed mine?!? I’ve been living under a blade since that last chat...
Felix Lu
3:55
@Mikail...I won't know until I get it! I shouldn't have teased you like that...I guess in my head, I have you down for it! But it will depend on whatever name DWJ writes on the back!
Cristian C
3:55
A Doom book written and drawn by Paul would be incredible.
Yo Kuri
3:55
@Paul can you walk us thru how you made the Kamandi cover... damn son... who is the lucky bastard who got that piece... what were your thoughts At first and how did it change thru the project... the composition, layers of depth and contrast of light and dark are fantastic
Ron
3:55
@marcus, before Disney bought Fox, Noah Hawley was making a Dr. Doom movie at Fox.
