@Andy...right!?! But just so damn beautiful. I haven't seen a Star Wars piece I wouldn't want to own by him.
Rob Rusch
1:56
@Jason W A few more Shaw CGR pieces and then moving into fantasy art probably
Reba
1:57
@felix If the commissioner doesn't want that one we'll all fight over it!
Jason Wood
1:57
I still don't have, but desperately want pieces from Bergara, Rubin, Grampa, Timm, Staples, Sienkevich, Opena
Felix Lu
1:57
@Jason...did you catch Grampa's most recent rates?
Andy Robbins
1:58
Felix - I'd take it, and I'm not even a SW guy
Jason Wood
1:58
Also, I'm an a-hole for passing up on Alan (inked) and Walt commissions during the pandemic.
Felix Lu
1:58
Ooof...I'm really surprised!
Rob Rusch

I found the DWJ vader/luke piece interesting. Typically it's a huge negative to have small characters like that, but that sort of approach really limits creativity. DWJ's pov on that was amazing and made for a great overall piece
Jason Wood
1:58
$2,000 for either of those guys? So so worth it.
@felix I did, and until I retire and my wife says we have enough zeros in the checking account, it's not happening
Felix Lu
1:59
OK, that's fair. Smart guys know that wives come first! For the sake of everyone's sanity!
Andy Robbins
1:59
What were the Walt ones going for?
Felix Lu
1:59
$2000...sigh.
Dan T
1:59
I bet the commissioner is pretty happy with that DWJ Star Wars piece.  Good luck trying to fight that fight.
Matt Todd
1:59
@Jason at the top of my list I have an awesome idea for a Stegman Venom commission. I one day hope to pull off. I also very much want a Lee Weeks Commission
Andy Robbins
1:59
Jason - so worth it indeed!
Morgan
1:59
I got on DWJ’s list with a Star Wars request this year. I almost felt bad making draw more SW, but he’s just so damn good at it!
Jason Wood

DWJ is becoming known for tiny character, big scene commissions. I -- like Felix -- love the composition. I'm sure it's not for everyone but I haven't heard a single unsatisfied customer. And truth be told, if they were, there would be 10 others happy to take the pieces.
@andy same deal...Alan Davis, single figure (11x17) inking himself for $2K. Walt same deal, $2K.
Felix Lu
2:00
Look, $2K is a lot of dough. But that's a screaming bargain for those two. ESPECIALLY Walt.
Andy Robbins
2:00
I don't know if I would have done it, as I am happy with my one Beta-Ray Bill
No - I would have done it
Dan T

I have some ideas for Ian Bertram & Jeffrey Alan Love for their next commission lists.  I'll also chase the DWJ list because how can you not.

@Jason I’m always on the hunt for Tyler Jenkins’ Peter Panzerfaust pages. The story is about kids in WW II going from Amsterdam to Paris and I happened to be reading it on a train from Amsterdam to Paris. I picked up a few pages, then kind of become addicted to it. Sometimes I don’t even know if he’s a good artist or a lazy one, but I always enjoy looking at his art and trying to figure it out.
Felix Lu

@Joe...that's fantastic. And a great time to buy now, too. I remember when the #1 cover was floating around...
Jason Wood
2:01
I hesitated because I had already had like 80 pieces this year lol...but that was so dumb. I've spent 5x that on other stuff since.
Yeah that's the thing, Walt NEVER does commissions, so these are so rare.
Andy Robbins
2:01
I would have asked to two that compliment each other.  Characters to remain a secret.  Certainly not Bill and Sif
Matt Todd
2:01
@Morgan DWJ did an amazing Star Wars Old Man Luke commission for me in 2017. You will be very happy with your choice
Joe Lara
2:02
Does anyone here collect any pages from a story they have a personal connection to?
Casey A
2:02
Saw a DWJ Spidey with the small character, huge scene concept on CAF. Think about it regularly.
Matt Todd
2:02
@Felix the Manhunter Walt did for you is still one of my favorite pieces.
Felix Lu
2:03
Thanks Matt! I wish I could have gotten on his list for a full figure! Oh well.
Jason Wood
2:03
@Joe not really. I would love to acquire some OHOTMU pages (I have one by Pollard) but another one of Felix' buddies (and my neighbor!) has the market cornered
Victor B.
2:03
@Jason, at this point I always try to get anything from DJW or Chris Samnee. Those two are always on my list
Andy Robbins
2:03
I'd like to get a Samnee Black Widow with his design
Casey A
2:04
The Samnee lists go so fast! I got one of the 4x6's, but missed the commissions by a few seconds
Joe Lara
2:04
@Jason Yeah, I found out I’m up against another Peter Panzerfaust super collector and we are each the reason the other has paid so much for A pages. Ha!
Jason Wood
2:04
CAF Live wasn't much for me but there was a fully composed Samnee piece of Nexus with multiple characters for $250. I snagged it as a gift for my co-host who LOVES Nexus
