His numbers so far are pretty similar to what he's always done in the minors. Walks about as much as he strikes out. Hits a few homers here and there.
The .339 BABIP is higher than league average but he's always been around there in the minors.

How is Jarren Duran a all-star snub? Who would he replace, Soto, Judge or Kwan?
Darragh McDonald
1:20
That's also a great point.

Any chance cardinals make a move for a legit #2 starter to pair with gray?
Darragh McDonald
1:21
That makes plenty of sense, but they've tended towards more back-end pitching in recent years. Jon Lester and guys like that.
Doesn't mean they will do it again but that's been Mo's M.O.

Is Yandy Diaz available for the Yankees? What would it take? How about Jazz Chishom?
Darragh McDonald
1:23
Big trades within the division tend to be rare. The Rays don't want Yandy beating up on them for the next few years and the Yankees also don't want their prospects to be killing them from Tampa for the rest of the decade.
1:24
As for Jazz, I feel like the ship has sailed on him as an infielder. After they cut Tim Anderson, someone asked Skip Schumaker about the possibility and he gave a flat "no."
So, hard to fit him with the Yankees.

Who do you think will be some of the best starters available,  besides Crochet?
Darragh McDonald
1:25
Flaherty is probably the best combination of skill and availability.
He's on a one-year deal, pitching great. Tigers are 8.5 games back of a playoff spot.
1:28
Other than him, Kikuchi is probably available. Maybe Bassitt. As mentioned, Rangers could trade someone like Lorenzen or Heaney. Rays could flip Eflin or Littell. Mets could maybe trade Jose Quintana with Senga coming back, even though they're still in it. Angels have Tyler Anderson and Griffin Canning. Sox also have Fedde.

luisnangel acuna or baty to replace me?
Darragh McDonald
1:30
Acuna's not really knocking the door down right now. 78 wRC+ in Triple-A this year.
Crochet

Everyone is worried about my innings and I'm not throwing 225 innings this year obviously, but everyone needs a first time to hit 150 innings, so why is everyone freaking out?  I am big, strong, and even if they pitch me every 6th day I got this.  And then 2 more years of Cy quality innings at ridiculously cheap rates
Darragh McDonald
1:32
There's usually just more of a natural ramp up when a guy comes through college and the minors. He'll get to 70 one year, 110 the next, 140 after that or whatever.
1:33
Crochet pitched about 60 innings per year over two college seasons. Almost nothing in 2020 with the pandemic. He was a reliever in 2021, then Tommy John absence for most of 2022-23.
1:34
He's over 100 now and it just logically seems like he'll hit a wall or hurt himself at some point.

Think the rockies are open to moving Brendan rodgers or McMahon? if so, what kind of return would you anticipate?
Darragh McDonald
1:34
McMahon, no. Dick Monfort apparently is heart_eyes for him.
1:35
Rodgers, sure, but he won't have much value.
1:36
Pretty decent fielder but he has an 85 wRC+ in his career. One stolen base in 387 games.
Only one arb year after this and already making $3.2MM. He's a non-tender candidate at this point.
Well, I have to go help out with the main site.
1:37
Sorry for throwing off the normal schedule and any drop-off in quality from Anthony to myself.

I enjoyed this. Thank you
Darragh McDonald

Thanks! I enjoyed it as well.

Enjoy the rest of the long weekend, if you're lucky enough to be doing that, and perhaps I'll talk to you again the next time Anthony takes time off.
