Pretty wide error bars on that contract projection but I'd guess he beats the Kikiuchi deal with Seattle (which was $56MM guaranteed over four)? Don't expect the Angels to drop that much on starting pitching

Wow!  Two hours!  Thanks!

Ha I started an hour late today. I haven't been quite so generous with my time

Who replaces Brantley? Yuli? Would signing  Gallo to platoon with McCormick make sense? What would Rowdy T cost?
Anthony Franco
5:03
I could see them bringing Brantley back. Maybe Joc Pederson if they go in another direction for the LF/DH hybrid?
5:04
At first base, I do think Yuli walks. Tellez is a viable trade candidate, sure, Milwaukee's not going to get a whole lot there. Josh Bell could be a fit there, Rizzo too
5:05
I don't think Chas needs a platoon partner. I'd just let him play every day, rather have him taking at-bats than Gallo

Who plays first base for the Giants next year?
Anthony Franco
5:05
Trey Mancini?
5:06
They also make sense for Rizzo, Bell, etc. Could bring back Belt and mix Wilmer in there against lefties if they really wanted to focus their attention elsewhere

If MLB wants to attract a younger audience, they should probably avoid scheduling World Series games on Halloween.  Younger people tend to have younger kids they want to devote their attention to that night....

Idk, they're also trying to avoid the overlap with the NFL. I get that it's probably inconvenient but nothing's perfect. Can't get too worked up over scheduling personally

Your thoughts on what Masataka Yoshida could sign for and potential fits?
Anthony Franco
5:08
I have no idea but you're right that he should be more on our radar. Give me a week or two to find out more about him

Throwing out these multi-million contracts like candy.  With a long term recession likely, will baseball kill the goose that lays the golden egg?  NFL ticket prices are already off limits for many fans.
Anthony Franco
5:09
I disagree with your premise that player salaries are tied to ticket prices, which I think teams would set optimally based on supply and demand no matter what their player payroll is
5:10
As for whether MLB's spending habits are viable long-term, I have no idea. But the commissioner said this week they made around $11 billion this year (revenue, not profit), so I think they're doing just fine right now

Is any one else sick and tired of Matthew Perry yet?

Is this a Friends joke? Sorry, I don't get it

Who’s coming as a pitching coach ?
Anthony Franco
5:12
Can't even try to predict specific coaching hires, sorry. Could very well be someone on the minor league pitching side I've literally never heard of
Alright that's all the questions in the queue

Oh here's one Dodger fan's opinion on Carlos Correa before sign-off
JBD
5:13
It would be a bitter pill for Dodgers to swallow if the team signs Carlos Correa.  He was the most defensively vocal about the cheating scanda.  (Defensively vocal = Biggest Liar).  He just couldn't keep his mouth shut and kept the pot stirred.   Explaining Altuve not wanting his jersey pulled off after the walkoff homer off Aroldis Chapman were particularly hilarious...  he has an ugly tattoo...his wife is modest.
