Hmm, don't know that I'd go that far but what they got was a little less than I expected. Less so that I'm down on Teel as a headliner and more than I'm worried about the risk with Montgomery as the secondary piece. That'd have been easier to stomach if the Sox got Mayer instead of Teel

But hey, it's entirely possible Boston just wasn't willing to entertain that and the White Sox had to take the best offer that was on the table for Crochet at some point. Building another trade around a catcher after they got Edgar Quero in the Giolito trade isn't ideal -- that's the one position where I think having a prospect surplus is a real thing, because the player's overall value drops significantly if you need to move him to first base -- but they're far enough away that they can worry about that down the line if Quero and Teel both hit
Another one that we discussed on the pod yesterday so I encourage you all to check that out if you haven't. Steve and Tim both liked Chicago's return a bit more than I did

Why did the Dodgers pass on Tucker and Devin Williams
Anthony Franco
4:31
Guess you could argue that they passed on Williams but we'll see how the rest of the offseason plays out. They could still sign Tanner Scott
4:32
Wouldn't say they passed on Tucker so much as the Cubs had the ideal combination of near-MLB help and motivation to land an impact bat that made them a fit

Do you think the Reds will have trouble matching the price for Teoscar Hernandez?  If it goes to 4 years, I'm not sure they would do it.  Who do you think would be be a good fallback plan?

Back to the "Lane Thomas to Reds" trade suggestions that are four years running

Any rumors on what is next for them?

Still expect one of Thomas or Josh Naylor to go. I liked their end of the Giménez trade sequence the most, but that's mostly about offloading the money (while opening ABs for Juan Brito and eventually Travis Bazzana) and getting a couple interesting developmental pitching prospects. Luis Ortiz is kind of intriguing but they still need to add a starter

Alright, I've gotta wrap things here
