I don’t know how much there is to say here. They’ve done almost nothing, which is what I’d expected. I like the Candelario bounceback signing well enough. Trevor Williams at 2/13 is fine but not exciting. Guessing they’ll bring in a reliever or two before the winter’s up

What's your evaluation of the Cubs' Christopher Morel? Does he have a position, or is he basically a utility player?
Anthony Franco
9:05
Seems like a bat-first utility guy. Interesting player off the bench, don’t buy him as a regular with the lack of a defensive home and the strikeouts
Rodon Right On

Trade Proposal: Reynolds for  Everson Pereira, Clarke Schmidt, Luetge, Ron Marinaccio, Will Warren, And Luis Gil.  Who says no?  Is it close?
Anthony Franco
9:05
Too much quantity over quality thing here. Need a better headliner than Pereira (or Marinaccio, depending on your perspective)

Im trying my best to be excited about the '23 Red Sox. I'm having a hard time. There has to be trades on the horizon. Any idea what they might look like?
Anthony Franco
9:06
Man, it’s tough. Seems like they’ll trade for a middle infielder. Wendle was reported before, maybe it’s Amed Rosario or Nicky Lopez. Don’t know they’re getting anyone super exciting.
9:07
It’s been a rough offseason, no way to really sugarcoat it. Hard for me to realistically see them entering the season as anything better than the #4 team in the East, and you could certainly argue they’re worse than the Orioles too.
Lefty
9:07
Who says no? Giants try and buy prospect and give some salary relief to Yankees by dealing LaStella and Yaz for Donaldson and Everson Pereira?
Zaidi and Cashman
9:07
What about Josh Donaldson for Tommy La Stella? Both are better fits on their new team than their old team.
Anthony Franco
9:07
First one only really saves the Yankees around $10MM. Yaz would be an interesting addition who kind of fits the roster well but I don’t think they’d give up someone as good as Pereira to make that happen
Second one doesn't seem worth it from the Giants perspective
Hits Like Rays
9:07
Should the Rays be interested in trading with the Angels to get Jared Walsh?
Anthony Franco
9:08
Yeah, I think Walsh makes some sense there if the Halos are willing to sell low. Adding a lefty bat to the first base/DH mix feels like a priority for TB
9:09
Unrelated to this question: got a few people in here asking me about what happens with Trevor Bauer. I expect the Dodgers will release him before the deadline to reinstate him
Mike Elias
9:09
A lot has been written about the Marlins and Mariners pitchers being targets for the Os.  Who else might be realistic targets out there we can go get.
Anthony Franco
9:10
Guardians or Twins could deal a starter in the right situation. That probably applies to Milwaukee with Eric Lauer or Adrian Houser too
Paul
9:10
What would it take to get Anderson from the white sox
Anthony Franco
9:10
White Sox have told teams Anderson isn’t on the table. Don’t think there’s much chance he’s getting traded
Big Bob
9:11
Are the Dodgers really playing Lux, Vargas, etc. and think they'll win the division?
Anthony Franco
9:12
I don’t think it’s all that outlandish. It’s not looking like as great a Dodger team as some others but should still be good. I like them as the division favorites, and they’re right there with the Mets and Braves for me as top teams in the NL as things stand
JL
9:12
The Os can sell high on Mullins and Santandar and still end the season better off than last year, right?
Anthony Franco
9:12
I think they could with Santander, yes. Mullins, probably not
Dazed and Confuzed

If Corea's deal with the Mets falls through, where might he go?
GBS42
9:12
Reports are Correa and Boras are sticking with the 12-year/$315M framework of their deal with the Mets, while there is speculation the deal is only about 55% likely to be worked out.  *If* things fall apart, what kind of contract do you think Correa will be able to get?  Something similar to what he got from the Twins...maybe even from the Twins?
Anthony Franco
9:12
Talk about questions I didn't expect to have to answer again haha
9:13
Twins would have to be the favorite then right? Maybe the Red Sox jump in?
Guess I'd set the O/U if they cut off talks with the Mets at the 285 Minnesota had put on the table earlier
Big Game James
9:13
Which prospect(s) are you most excited about seeing debut in 2023?
Anthony Franco
9:14
Curtis Mead, Jordan Walker, Eury Pérez if he gets there
9:16
My time at Boston College overlapped with Sal Frelick's, so I saw him a ton as an amateur. Really interested to see how he translates against MLB pitching; his minor league work has been awesome
Ok that's all I've got time for tonight
If I didn't get to your question, reach out on Twitter and I'll be sure to get back to you

I'm taking off on Friday to help some family manage the fall out from the blizzard that hit us over the weekend, so no chat then. I'll do one for the main site tomorrow evening and back on the Friday afternoon schedule for these next week
