I'll go with Casas, Segura, Story, Devers
Tacoma Rainiers

Are Andres Munoz and Jhoan Duran doomed to be "stoppers" in 2023, rather than closers? Will they get anything more than a handful of saves?
Anthony Franco
3:25
I think Munoz ends up in the seventh or eighth, yeah. Minnesota probably won't do a designated closer and they'll use Durán all over the place, but sometimes that'll come with a one-run lead in the ninth. I'd take the over on 10 saves for him but under 20

Looking at the reliever market in free agency, and the return the Tigers got for one year of Joe Jiminez, what do you believe the rerun would be for the Nats of the dealt Kyle Finnegan? Thanks.
Anthony Franco
3:26
That's an interesting one. Haven't given Finnegan a whole lot of thought this winter but I should for the reasons you mentioned
3:27
Agree he has more appeal than Jiménez because of the two additional seasons of club control. I'd rather have Jiménez for one year but Finnegan's also very good. I think they'd get two pretty interesting prospects for him -- guys outside the top 100 but players the acquiring team's fanbase would be annoyed they gave up for a setup reliever

I see Brandon Drury as a great fit for the Brewers. Is he a realistic target or do you see a team like the Dodgers making it too expensive for them by either years or $$(or both)?  He would really help build infield depth, letting Urias start at 2B while Turang gets a few more AAA at bats before being called up.  He would also be a great platoon partner for Rowdy at 1B.
Anthony Franco
3:28
Yeah I like the fit. We think he's getting around Eduardo Escobar money, like 2/20
That's probably doable for Milwaukee if he's their biggest addition of the offseason

Optimistic view: the Nats are on a path to be competitive in 2025, assuming several of the young prospects mature into key players and a new owner is willing to spend. Has even that window disappeared given Mets' free-spending, Philadelphia's savvy (expensive) upgrades this off-season, and the Braves' long-term contracts with their key young proven players?
Anthony Franco
3:30
It's an uphill battle for sure. Projecting more than two years into the future is borderline impossible but if you set an O/U on 0.5 division titles for the Nats within the next five years, I think I'd take the under for the reasons you mentioned

What happens first: Correa or Swanson get signed, or Murphy gets traded?
Anthony Franco
3:30
I'll go Murphy
Blake Sabol
3:30
What was the whole point of the Reds drafting me in the Rule 5 draft, just to trade me away afterwards?
Anthony Franco
3:31
Teams do this with Rule 5 picks all the time. Reds probably weren't going to draft anyone. The Giants wanted Sabol but didn't think he would get to them at 16, so they agree to a deal in advance that sends Cincinnati some money to essentially buy the pick

I'm going to get crushed from all sides for this but: Is the a deal that makes sense for both teams that involves the Rockies getting Donaldson and Hicks with the Yankees getting Bryant and a reliever, preferably, but not necessarily Bard?
Anthony Franco
3:32
I don't think either team would do it. Can't see why the Yankees would want to take on a six-year commitment to Bryant, and the Rockies are in too deep to give him away after one season

Cards could use a pitcher, possibly a starter or swingman, and most likely need to do so by trade.  Any possibilities you can think of?  Also, would Yepez be enough for Scott Barlow of KC?  Thanks.
Anthony Franco
3:34
I think Barlow has more value than that. Depth starters you could trade for: JT Brubaker, Daniel Castano
Aaron Civale or Zach Plesac if you're shooting a little higher and committing a season-opening rotation spot

Correa or bust for SF?
Anthony Franco
3:34
At this point, yeah I think so
Jc
3:35
I was optimistic (most definitely foolishly) about the twins bringing Correa back. Have they been totally priced out of the market? Is that what their ownership was hoping for? This way they can say "ah shucks, we tried."
Anthony Franco
3:35
I buy they really want him back and are making an earnest effort to keep him. But the Giants are just as motivated to get him and have a lengthier history of spending like this. I'd favor SF
Around the turn...
3:36
Speaking of KC, are they going to do *anything* besides the inevitable Grienke deal? They could surely use a RH bat
Anthony Franco
3:36
Yeah Picollo said at the start of the offseason they'd get a righty bat
3:37
I believe they will, but it could be like Wil Myers or Adam Duvall to factor into the corner outfield mix. Generally seems like they're just working with limited payroll space
Mitch Williams
3:37
Why won't Orioles go big on Rodon? He's young enough to fit their competitive timeline and their payroll is wide open
Anthony Franco
3:38
Can certainly make an argument for it. Counter would be that you're investing huge in a pitcher with a worrisome injury history when you're maybe a year away from truly hitting your stride as a full-fledged contender (not that they won't hope to make the playoffs in 2023)

Are we really going to hold 2017  over correas head if he can help us win
Anthony Franco
3:39
I think that's more so a cover for the Dodgers not minding the idea of sitting out the SS market, resetting their luxury tax bracket in 2023, and then going huge next offseason
Jimmybo

Alejandro Kirk + Addison Barger for Corbin Carroll?
Anthony Franco
3:39
D-Backs aren't trading Carroll
Vegas Lee
3:39
what is the latest on Trout, Ohtani with the LA Angels
Anthony Franco
3:40
They'll be on the Angels roster to start next season
Jeremy
3:40
Who is most likely to be traded: Reynolds or Varshu, and who is your most likely destination if they are both traded?
Anthony Franco
3:40
Reynolds feels likelier since Arizona can clear the outfield logjam by dealing a still valuable but worse player than Varsho
3:41
I like Texas on Reynolds if he moves. I don't expect Varsho to go but if we assume for this question he does, give me Miami
BhamBrave
3:41
Do the Braves have the trade chips to get Reynolds from Pittsburgh? What/who would it take?
Anthony Franco
3:43
Sure. If Atlanta offered both Grissom and Contreras, I think Pittsburgh would be very tempted
