If you were trying to narrow it down more scientifically, I think the quality of the TV rights deal would be the biggest variable. Probably have to mix attendance in there as well
Dodger Dave
4:02
Your thoughts on Dodger centerfield situation. Kiermier looks to be only viable FA option. Any trade possibilities?  Thanks
Anthony Franco
4:03
Michael A. Taylor, I guess? I'd give real thought to signing Benintendi and playing him in center field for a year at this point

Are outfielders so hard to draft and develop that teams like the Mets would give an eight year contract to a guy whose game relies on speed and contact at Nimmo’s current age. Do you see his speed and skill set be successful for at least five years?
Anthony Franco
4:04
You're not going to quickly draft and develop an in-house center field replacement, and the free agent and trade possibilities the last two winters have been really rough
4:06
I was pushing nine figures for Nimmo pretty early in the season because of that, but I never expected the bidding to get as high as it did. I don't think he'll be a particularly good player by the last few seasons of the contract, but the Mets care less than anyone about money and they didn't love the idea of giving CF back to Starling Marte at age 34
Schenectady Blue Jays
4:06
Two similar players: Hunter Renfroe and Eugenio Suarez. Who's going to have the better year? Can Renfroe maintain a .250 average? Can Suarez stay above the Mendoza Line?
Anthony Franco
4:07
I like Renfroe more. Suarez above the Mendoza line but probably below .220. Don't think he repeats this year's numbers
Back to Back

With Nimmo's contract with Mets, what does that do for Conforto and Benintendi's contracts this off season?
Anthony Franco
4:07
Separate markets. Nimmo was always well above those guys
Timbo
4:07
If the Twins miss out on Correa, can you see them making a run at Rodon?
Anthony Franco
4:08
Guessing Rodón will price himself out of their range as well
Rangers13
4:08
What is your assessment of the Ranger's moves so far, and what do you think their next move will be?
Anthony Franco
4:09
Need a left fielder but I respect the aggressiveness on Rodón and love the Heaney price. Get a left fielder and they're bordering on a Wild Card roster probably
Miguel Sano

Will I get a big league deal this winter?
Anthony Franco
4:09
Think so, yeah

We have seen in the NFL teams have to trade off superstars ( Tyreek Hill and Devonte Adams for examples ) because they could not afford them any longer. With all these multi yeard and no trade contracts being signed, how long until MLB teams experience this ?
Anthony Franco
4:11
This happens in MLB too. Marlins traded Stanton, Rockies dealt Arenado (although personal animosity was a large factor in the second one). The NFL's a cap league where players are much more likely to hold out if they dislike their current contract though. That's not a concern in MLB

Every few years I get blown away by the money that gets thrown around.  This offseason is turning out to be no exception.  The MLBTR brain trust has predicted Senga signing a signing a 5 year deal for about $75M.  Do you think that still holds or is he more likely to get closer to $100M.  Anywhere recent word as to where he might be leaning? BTW, you guys have been fairly accurate with the free agent predictions so far so congrats with that.
Anthony Franco
4:12
Ha, I'm not sure your last statement is true but thanks. We've had a few hits but also been way light on a bunch of guys, will have to go back at the end of the offseason and see where things come in
I would take the over on 75 for Senga at this point. I'd guess under 100 but not by much

What are we doing. Only Hayward. No SS. No pitcher We can’t rely on only the kids
Anthony Franco
4:13
They'll bring in a starting pitcher and an outfielder. Probably could use a glove-first depth option at shortstop with the concerns about Lux's arm strength

Given your piece on the Diamondbacks outfielders, what would Arizona be looking for in return for Varsho?  Seems like he’d be a perfect fit for Seattle… would Dipoto need to move someone like Gilbert to make it happen?
Anthony Franco
4:17
I don't think Varsho has the kind of appeal to get a Kirby or Gilbert, no. Seattle's a tough match though, because it seems like Arizona's primary goal is to add a good right-handed hitting infielder and I don't know that Seattle's offering that. Guess you could put Ty France in there with Matt Brash and some prospects, but that's creating more holes on the MLB roster than I think the M's would want

Does the Candelario signing shut the door on a Carter Kieboom comeback?
Anthony Franco
4:17
Nah, can move Candy over to first or DH
Taylor
4:18
Luis Arraez for Edward Cabrera work?
Anthony Franco
4:19
Minnesota would want more than just Cabrera but I don't mind it as a starting point
Astros
4:19
NETHERLANDS OMG. Am I the only one freaking out more than my favorite team signing a FA
Anthony Franco
4:20
I know this a soccer reference but couldn't tell you much more than that
That's all I have time for today, have to circle back to do some stuff for the site before my coverage shift tonight
4:21
Thanks for all the questions and as always for supporting the site!
If I didn't get to your question here, you can throw stuff at me on Twitter and I'll get back to you there
4:22
We'll do this again next week. Enjoy the transactional chaos (and the World Cup, particularly if you're as fired up about it as Astros fan). Have a great weekend!
