Yamamoto feels like the best pitcher to come over from Japan in recent memory (maybe since Daisuke). Murakami might be the best offensive player too, although general expectation seems to be he'll wind up at first base

Every prospect has bust potential, so in that sense, sure. The track record on top-tier position player prospects is pretty good though. I'd be more inclined to just limit a term like "can't miss," assuming it comes with an understanding they're not literally 100% likely to succeed, to players in the top 10-15 overall

Do you think playing north of the border hinders a player's chances at being elected to the HoF?  I find the disrespectful vote totals for Delgado and Stieb so strange.  Stieb was one of the best 3 pitchers of the entire 1980's and Delgado is a borderline HoF'er by the numbers and didn't even stay on the ballot (i.e. get 5% of the vote) when eligible.

I don't know if it's a Toronto thing specifically. Voters have extremely high standards for starting pitchers (too high, given the limitation on modern pitchers' innings). Feels like Delgado was victimized, to an even greater extent, by the McGriff effect where voters  raised offensive standards in the 90's because of PED's even for players who weren't connected to them
