I'd go Bibee, Williams, Miller, Woo
4:34
Like them all, love Bibee
Cory
4:34
What do your updated wild card predictions look like at the halfway point?
Anthony Franco
4:34
Ha, let me double check what I had preseason
Blue Jays, Angels, Yankees
Padres, Mets, Giants
4:35
All the AL teams are still right there but I didn't have the Orioles and I think the Rangers are winning the AL West. So I'll go Orioles, Yankees, Astros
4:37
Giants look good. Mets/Padres very much do not. Swap Arizona in there (still like the Dodgers to win the division)
Last one is tough. I'll go with Miami even though I'm still skeptical. Don't love Philly or any of the Central teams. Think SD still has a run in them but erasing a 10.5 game deficit on the Fish is too much to project

What would reds have to give up for Michael Lorenzen?  Also, can you think of a good prospect for prospect trade for the reds?
Randy roundtripper
4:38
Thanks so much for these opportunities! What prospect capital should the Reds sacrifice to net a legit SP? I'm thinking they need to keep Connor Phillips and Christian Encarnacion-Strand, but they have other valuable assets that should garner them a good SP. Your thoughts?
Anthony Franco
4:39
Lorenzen probably costs a prospect in the 20-30 range in the system. Very doable
4:40
I agree they're not really in position to trade CES or Phillips yet. I think the Victor Acosta/Rece Hinds tier of the system is where I'd be more comfortable
4:41
If Dylan Cease is available or something, then sure, deal from the top of the system. But unless we're talking 2.5 years of a top-end starter like that, I'd slow-play things. Add, but cautiously for now
SteveM
4:41
Apparently Rocco Baldelli layed in to his team. The TWINS are a pathetic first place team (now tied with...you guessed it...Cleveland). This reminds me an awful lot like last season. Minnesota finally has a good pitching staff but can't hit anything or anybody. At the deadline...who should they go after? Who should they trade? should they just cash in and wait until next year?
Anthony Franco
4:43
I think they have to push in again. Feels strikingly similar to last year, I agree, but the division is never more winnable than right now and you'd think the front office and coaching staff have to get this team back to the playoffs pretty soon
4:45
Could use another bullpen arm, probably corner OF help. Not clear if they can expect Buxton to get back in the outfield at any point, and Kepler/Larnach just haven't worked for a while now. Gallo's fine but can rotate through both corner spots and first base if they add a clearer upgrade

4:45
Can the Mets get anything for Starling Marte, Mark Canha, or Omar Narvaez?
Anthony Franco
4:46
Not Marte. They'd have to pay down a huge chunk of that deal to get another team to even think about it. Narváez isn't hitting, was injured for a while, and has a $7MM player option next year, not much appeal there
4:47
I think they could get a 40 FV prospect for Canha, maybe a little above that if they were willing to pay it down the way they did with Escobar
SteveM
4:47
How were Cincinnati and Arizona able to turn it around so quick?
Anthony Franco
4:48
Arizona drafted well but I don't know that I'd agree with your premise it was a quick turnaround. They were terrible for three years. Not intentionally, but they've been picking near the top for a while
4:50
Reds aren't quite there yet but they moved a little quicker because they had more to trade in the first place and could acquire nearer-term help (Jake Fraley, Spencer Steer)
Obviously landing Elly De La Cruz and getting immediately strong production from Matt McLain helps -- they didn't do it all via trade -- but they got a few contributors who were on the fringes of MLB at the time of the trade and have panned out nicely
SteveM
4:51
Jo Adell? (gotta have at least 1 reference to him). Will the Angels hold on for a playoff spot?
Anthony Franco
4:51
I think he gets moved, probably for bullpen help
The Rangers fan
4:51
Do you see the Rangers making multiple deals
Anthony Franco
4:53
They'll probably make multiple trades for relievers alone. Could also add a depth starter and someone to factor into the corner outfield off the bench, ideally a lefty bat
The Rangers fan
4:53
Are the Rangers expecting to get a left fielder bat, relievers and a starter?
Anthony Franco
4:53
Oh haha, just realized this was next in the queue
We're on the same page!
JL
4:53
How do you think MLB feels about the Os tanking efforts starting to pay off?
Anthony Franco
4:55
I don't think the league really cares about how teams build their rosters. The Orioles are relevant again and full of talented, exciting players, so I'm guessing MLB is pleased
Utility spot in roto
4:55
Who do you think will bounce back more in half 2, Jake Cronenwerth or Wilson Contreras.  Seems like neither are likely trade candidates, right?
Anthony Franco
4:55
Wouldn't consider either a viable trade candidate given the contracts. I like Contreras more offensively
Astros fan
4:56
Would a McCormick, Julks, and Bielak trade for Bieber and Kwan or Brennen be of interest to either side?
Anthony Franco
4:56
Not nearly enough for Cleveland
I like Chas but he's the only one of that trio from the Astros' side that has much value

I’ve got Skubal ready and either Blanco or Blackburn to go in my AL league. What’s your prognosis for Tarik this summer and which would you drop? Thanks as always
Anthony Franco
4:57
I'd cut Blanco. Tough to project on Skubal until we see what the stuff looks like post-surgery. I'm cautiously optimistic but have to see it at the MLB level again before I'm back in on him as an upper mid-rotation arm
Edd

I read an article where it mentioned Josh Hader wants the Brewers to trade for him. Don't know if that's true or if he was just kidding around. He would be a great addition, but I can't see the Brewers doing that. Your thoughts?
