Could just cut him entirely, but he's still missing enough bats I guess they're hoping the home run rate normalizes eventually

Twins send AK, Miranda, Celestino and another piece to Miami for Meyer enough?
Anthony Franco
4:21
Too much on Minnesota's end. Can't see them giving up both Kirilloff and Miranda for Meyer
Dave Roberts
4:22
Tony Gonsolin/Tyler Anderson, best 1-2 punch in baseball?! Definitely didn’t have that on my bingo card this year! Anderson is definitely having a career year, but should the Dodgers extend Gonsolin?
Anthony Franco
4:22
He's already 28, still controllable through 2026 anyways. I doubt they'll feel a ton of urgency there
Really good pitcher and everything, but they've got him around well into his 30's anyways

Should the Rangers stand pat or go for pitching
Anthony Franco
4:23
They're going to be open to adding controllable arms. If that opportunity presents itself, then go for it but they don't have to force anything this summer
4:24
They're not making the playoffs this year, but they're going to be all-in for 2023. Are they motivated enough to outbid the field for a guy like Mahle when they're only likely to get one possible playoff push before free agency and another contender can get two? I doubt it
But they can at least look into it, and if nothing happens this summer, be more aggressive next winter

When the Red Sox are good, they’re good. But when they’re bad, they’re bad. I know they have a plethora of injuries right now, but this team just doesn’t seem to have the talent of NYY or HOU, or the fight of Tampa. Should they start considering selling some guys (Martinez, Vazquez, etc)…or could/should they hold out for a surge like ATL had last year?
Anthony Franco
4:25
Nah, similar to the White Sox and Jays I think they're just going to hold on. They all expected to contend this year and remain in the mix even if they've been disappointing
Too much talent to just give up

What sort of haul to you think the Cubs might want for Robertson?  Do you think they get a better return by trading with an AL, rather tan NL, team?
Anthony Franco
4:26
A couple lottery-ticket types, nothing crazy. He's good but non-elite rental relievers aren't bringing back franchise-altering returns. Don't think they'll have any preference on AL/NL, since they're out of it this year either way

Hey Anthony, thanks for doing this.  Do you have any information on how Kodai Senga is doing in Japan this year?  Does it appear that he will qualify with sufficient innings this year to be posted for MLB consideration?
Anthony Franco
4:28
Not sure about this one yet. His numbers this year are awesome but this is the kind of thing we'll dig deeper on about a month or two from now as we start work on the Top 50 free agents list

Do you think the GIants extend Joc? What would that look like?
Anthony Franco
4:29
Guessing he walks. I think he'll look for three years, maybe even four, but I'd probably have him in the 2/24 range right now. Awesome numbers this season but he's a platoon guy with limited defensive value whom the market has been pretty harsh on the past couple seasons
Evan phillips
4:30
Is Phillips taking the closing job from Kimbrel? His stuff looks better and his results are too
Anthony Franco
4:30
May be taking the title of best reliever on the team but I don't think it's worth forcing Kimbrel out of the ninth. Just leave Phillips in high-leverage spots
Brewers/Dodgers
4:31
Harder for Michael Busch plus lower level prospect
Anthony Franco
4:32
I kind of like it
Don't think Milwaukee does it during a season where they're competing with the Dodgers for the NL title, but it's an interesting idea
Alright I have to head out and write about Sean Doolittle getting elbow surgery
