Who do you think ends up trading for Mitch Keller?
Anthony Franco
3:34
Just a dart throw but give me the Mets
MC Kitties

Along with an obtaining a reliever, do you think Detroit should look at Jarren Duran for the top of their lineup?
Anthony Franco
3:35
He'd be an ideal fit for Detroit but the Red Sox trading an outfielder while they're playing as well as they are feels too cute
3:37
They can rotate Duran, Abreu and Anthony through the corners and DH. Yoshida can work as a bench bat for a couple months and they can sort it out in the offseason
3:38
Unless Detroit is putting Olson on the table for Duran (which I would not do if I were the Tigers), not really seeing the appeal from Boston's perspective

Could we see three team deals where one team BUYS, one team SELLS, and another teams does a bit of both?
Anthony Franco
3:39
I'd guess we get one of those. We got the Fedde/Kopech/Edman one last year
Stott to Trot
3:39
Most of the Phillies noise has been about bullpen arms and an outfielder, which are obviously in need of improvement, but is there any chance they upgrade at 2B in the next two weeks? Stott's numbers have been dreadful no matter where he's been in the lineup
Anthony Franco
3:41
Yeah he's a concern. I still expect bullpen and left field to be the priorities -- supply is much greater than at second base too -- but if the Rays decide to move Brandon Lowe, the Phils would be an interesting dark horse there

Assuming they buy and sell which is what Cleveland usually does, is there a realistic catching option they could afford to trade for?  Naylor nor Hedges can hit anything, but at least Hedges has his defense but its time to move on from both and get an actual .220 hitter at least.
Anthony Franco
3:42
Nick Fortes is a career .226 hitter
3:43
Half-joking about that one specifically but I do think it'd be someone like that. Slight upgrade on Naylor at the plate but they pretty clearly place a premium on catcher defense
Jeter’s ghost

I saw an article that speculated the Yankees are ready to move on from Anthony Volpe at shortstop if he doesn’t improve his offensive numbers soon. With jazz Chisholm and impending free agent how do you see the Yankees progressing at the trade deadline and into next off-season?
Anthony Franco
3:44
Still not seeing it even though Volpe has been an awful hitter since April. The trade market at shortstop this summer is terrible
3:45
If he posts a sub-.600 OPS in the second half too, maybe it becomes a more realistic offseason talking point, but just need to ride it out for now. Third base is a much bigger priority in the short term

3:45
Outside of Keller, does any Pirates bring back a top 10 prospect?
Anthony Franco
3:46
Keller is not getting a top 10 overall prospect, so I assume this question is asking about guys from an organizational top 10. Bednar definitely will and Santana's got an outside chance at that as well
3:47
Obviously they'd get a haul if they moved Cruz

I'd like to say this question/comment isn't meant to disparage anyone, but I think it's unavoidable. 19 of 28 MLB dot com "experts" voted Misiorowski as the leader for NY ROY at this moment. After five starts. Admittedly, four were great (and one was a real dud!), but five starts and 25.2 IP? That's absurd. Drake Baldwin isn't a figment of my imagination, is he?
Anthony Franco
3:48
Haven't seen the column so I can't speak to that but I don't think it's crazy if they're trying to predict who is likeliest to win the award
3:49
If the season ended today, it's pretty clearly Baldwin for me. If you're projecting another two months of Miz carving and he's a big reason Milwaukee makes the playoffs...

What do you think the Giants will do in the next 13 days. Starting pitchers another bat? And who do you think they might go after.

How long a leash does Birdsong have? If he doesn't get it together do they promote Whisenhunt or look for outside help?
Anthony Franco
3:51
Rough few weeks for the Birdsong fan club. I think they'll be in on starters with an eye towards pushing him back to multi-inning relief, at least for the stretch. Should build him back up as a starter next spring if they do that
3:52
They should probably also call up Whishenhunt to replace Verlander but that's obviously a tougher sell given his status
3:54
They need another bat as well, yeah. Probably at first base given the concerns about Devers playing there. Schmitt has stabilized second a little bit and the outside options there aren't great. Feels like you have to let JHL and Ramos work through it in the outfield

3:56
Seth Lugo and Ramon Ramirez in a trade for Wilyer Abreu!!! Who says  no or is it a go?
Anthony Franco
3:56
Red Sox aren't doing that

3:56
Could trent Grisham headline a trade for a 3rd baseman or a high leverage reliever. Trade Grisham and bring up Jones. Your thoughts.
Anthony Franco
3:58
Eh, not seeing the match at third base. Grisham's a rental so he's not doing anything for the Rockies. D-Backs would only trade Suárez if they're kind of phoning it in
4:00
Trying to find a match in the bullpen. Maybe the Cardinals? Fringe contender, some relief depth to spare, haven't gotten anything offensively from Victor Scott since April
4:01
Highly doubt they'd swap him for Helsley but maybe you can swing something with Maton+? Rerun that Bader/Monty swap from a few years ago?

What should the Padres prioritize at the deadline? In my mind, the order of need is C, SP, LF. But if they could get a really good LF such as Duran or Kwan, I could live with the catching black hole.
Anthony Franco
4:03
I'd go LF, catcher, SP but that's mostly because I expect it to be easiest to acquire a left fielder. They're the top three needs in some order
Could use a better utility infielder than Iglesias too. The whole bench is terrible
All Star G- HR Derby pt. 2
4:03
Thoughts on the first-ever HR swingoff from this year's All Star Game?
Anthony Franco
4:04
It was fun as hell and I would hate if they ever put it into a meaningful game
But it's the perfect way to end an exhibition, the players were all into it, and Schwarber put on a show

Would Harry Ford for Junior Caminero get the conversations started? Maybe with Ryan Sloan added in?
