They want to do this but it's a process that involves a lot of time and money. I do think we'll get to 32, and having eight divisions of four probably works better than six with five, but the timing is primarily a financial concern

I think he's rangier than the guys they'd had there previously but his hands and throwing accuracy are inconsistent enough that he's a little below-average overall

Do the Dodgers trust Kimbrel to get the job done in post-season?  With Treinen and Hudson out, and Buehler and May trying to come back from injuries, doesn't a David Robertson acquisition make perfect sense?  I just don't see how the Dodgers could be completely comfortable with Kimbrel in October.

Yeah I think they'll add another 'pen arm for all the reasons you mentioned. An extra right-hander in the middle to late innings makes a ton of sense
Robertson's a fit for basically every contender, but the Dodgers are among them

I'd look for another corner bat, but by and large, the existing roster is really good as is

Mets are also great and probably the slight favorites with the 2.5 game cushion, but I don't know that Atlanta needs to do a whole lot this summer. Just going to be a hell of a fight for the final couple months

Not really banking on it. Seems like he made some mechanical tweaks that messed up his command and the way that batters pick identify his offspeed stuff as it comes out of his hand

It has been reported that the Marlins are displeased with their outfielders and that JJ Bleday might get the call up.  Does Bleday really offer something materially different from Soler and Garcia?  He's a fly ball/strikeout/walk guy.  Maybe he offers a little better OBP if his approach in drawing walks in AAA works against MLB pitching?  Maybe better defense?

Yeah I think they're just hoping Bleday, if/when he comes up, can draw a few more walks. They have a .266 team OBP over the past few weeks. Bleday's not going to save them single-handedly, but it's hard to do much worse

As for who they'll deal, I lean towards Cooper, Brian Anderson and maybe Anthony Bass. I agree they're trending towards selling, particularly with the Jazz news

More respectable but still bad next season. Could hang around the Wild Card race by 2024 if things break right and they add some pitching

I don't think there's a whole lot to do anymore. Muncy doesn't look right physically, definitely seems like the elbow's bothering him still. Bellinger, I think this just is who he is now. His pitch recognition has gotten all out of whack. Chasing far too often, really struggling with anything offspeed
