Good question, I don't know. Haven't seen any studies on this. I bet we'll get some kind of comprehensive analysis by the offseason

Haha well I have other non-baseball stuff I pay attention to year-round (movies, other sports, 20th century history). I'm not focused on baseball 24/7 regardless, so I wouldn't say day-to-day life changes too much

But the job definitely becomes different by August. The shifts are still generally the same (although we work more hours in the immediate lead-up to the deadline for obvious reasons), but the transactions become a lot smaller -- waiver claims, minor league deals, etc.

On the chats, why don't you guys provide 24-hours notice? It is difficult yo plan, when I get an e-mail at 13:30 EDT saying that there will be a chat at 14:00 CDT that day.

The general chats are too hard to plan a specific time for, since we have to work them around the news. Brad's chats are typically on Mondays but he's not a full-time staffer so sometimes he has other responsibilities that precedence
