If he's the worst pitcher on the staff, it's only because the rest of the group has been awesome. Cole's still having a good season, it's just shy of his typical standard
He's been a bit home run prone. It happens. Still think he's a top ten pitcher in the game
Yordan alvarez

What are your thoughts on the price tag of my new extension?
Anthony Franco
4:49
Maybe a hair lighter than I'd have expected but he got $115MM and the second-largest deal for anyone in his service bucket
The Astros got an extra three years of like the fourth-best hitter on the planet
Everybody wins

What are the odds the Yankees convert me into a starter this year or will they wait until the offseason? Would it take a major injury since gil is out?
Anthony Franco
4:50
Can't see that happening right now. Rotation's been awesome and King's so valuable in the multi-inning leverage role
Maybe they try again next winter but I'd be tempted to just leave him in the Chad Green role
Cal

Do you another team giving Sterling Castro another shot?
Anthony Franco
4:51
I think he's done

Hey Anthony, about six weeks ago, I asked you if you thought the Giants were truly going to remain a wild card-esque team.  You said you thought they were “legit.”  I feared that they were headed exactly where they’ve gone….a slow decline into mediocrity at best.  We have no consistent hitters, struggling top-of-rotation guys in Webb and Rodon, unproductive (or hurt) veterans and a black hole left behind by Posey’s departure, especially with his replacement, Bart, back in the minors.  Still think they’re legit??  Farhan  did little to bolster this team in the offseason and now, they’re paying the price.  Thought??
Anthony Franco
4:52
Ha yeah, I remember this question. I'm a little less confident in them now than I was a month ago -- largely because Brandon Crawford just hasn't been very good -- but I do still think they're a playoff team
4:53
You've still got the third-highest run scoring team in the league. Rodón and Webb should be fine, Disco coming back should help
4:54
Acquiring catching help is probably a must. I'd feel a lot better if they had another quality arm in the late innings, but I still believe they're good
Captain Kirk
4:54
What do the Jays do when Danny Jansen comes back? Carry all 3 great catchers or trade one of them at the deadline?
Anthony Franco
4:55
Option Moreno back, I'm guessing. Probably should deal one next offseason though
Bert
4:55
Mets biggest need? Relief pitching, DH or catcher.
Anthony Franco
4:56
Catcher
4:57
They could use another bullpen arm like virtually everyone, but it's pretty good, particularly if May comes back healthy. Davis should be able to handle DH

Over under Anthony rendons 7/245 for me this offseason?
Anthony Franco
4:58
Would've taken the under a month ago but I have to go over at this point

Odds Andujar actually gets traded?
Anthony Franco
4:59
He'll be traded either this summer or next offseason but they won't get much for him
Clete Boyer

Given a choice of Luis Rengifo, Nicky Lopez, Andy Ibanez, and Chad Pinder, who should I jettison? None of them are having outstanding years.
Anthony Franco
4:59
That is one deep league haha
5:00
I'd probably cut Rengifo

ROS in a head-to-head redraft league with Ks as -1. Can you rank Schwindel, Pasquantino, Choi, Cooper, Miranda or any other deep sleeper I should be looking at?
Anthony Franco
5:01
Standard "better question for Brad" caveat, but I'd probably go Cooper, Frank, Miranda as my top three

12 Team NL only league - The trade deadline is less than two months away.  Who do you see as a closer who is not the primary closer today?  Side question: It seems Gavin Lux is evolving into a slap hitter philosophy who would provide 15 - 20 SB and a 280 - 285 Average that ignores the power game.  What do you think?
Anthony Franco
5:03
Agree on Lux, seems like that's the kind of player he's morphing into
5:04
The closers? I don't really pay attention to the bullpen roles super closely since I'm not a fantasy guy, but maybe Ian Kennedy takes over for Melancon at some point
5:05
Cubs could trade Robertson and give the ninth to Scott Effross?
DrDave
5:05
Currently I'm 3rd in an NL-only 11 team 5X5.  I have lost Segura, Edwin Diaz, Stevenson, Suzuki, Bart, W.Adames, Lodolo and and Luzardo for extended periods of time.  The cupboard is bare.  Do I try to tough it out or trade off what I do have and build for the future?
Anthony Franco
5:06
Yeah this is the kind of question I just have to defer to Brad. Wish I could be more helpful, but I just really can't contextualize this stuff since I don't play these kinds of leagues
5:07
My unqualified answer is "hell yeah dude, go for it!" but I don't actually know if that's the smart play
Castro
5:07
Starlin Castro is done?
Anthony Franco
5:08
He's been meh for a few years and hasn't played since serving a domestic violence suspension. I don't think he'll ever play in the majors again

I wanted to trade Willie Calhoun for Miguel Andujar, but that ship has probably sailed.
Anthony Franco
5:09
Doubt the Yankees would do this. I think the Rangers will find a taker for Willy Calhoun but probably just a low-level prospect
