Tomlin is a good coach at preparing his team EMOTIONALLY, but they seem very poorly prepared when it comes to strategy/X's and O's! At some point you have to outsmart the competition!

Whatever, if anything Smith has been saving as plays I hope shows up Saturday….we have been so predictable.  Whatever happened to a surprise long down the field pass on the first play of the game !!!??? (That they practiced during the week of course). Thoughts???

Hi Gerry.  Something is obviously off here.  If you bring in a QB specifically to be your starter, bench a QB who was 4-2 (which I believe was the right call at the time) to put him in, have him play great for the first 6 weeks he’s in there, why go into a conservative shell now?  I would much rather see the Steelers hitch their wagon and try some aggressive/creative tactics with Russ and fail than watch them run on the first 12 1st downs of the game, run with Patterson in important spots, and act like they expect to go 14 plays over 8 minutes for scoring drives. Just try!  After 0-4 what have you got to lose?!

Gerry, with the liklihood of additional games being added to the regular season, do you think we will see roster size changes too? Seems like it's inevitable that the volume of games (and injuries) will soon outweigh the intended product the NFL wants to put out there.

Why do we do the same thing hoping for different results? Great coaches make adjustments.We have had different coordinators I really believe that Tomlin is the offensive coordinator.

Gerry, have you ever gotten tired of people asking you about players switching positions?  It reached it's apex (or nadir) when Shazier was here, but it still happens to this day.  Also, any chance the Steelers would take a guy like Williams from tOSU and finally move Benton to 5T?

I don't know who they like or would consider taking. All I know is priority No. 1 is rebuilding the defensive line, and it starts with finding the next Cam Heyward on the first round. No excuses. And they need to do it again in 2026

Gerry, thanks for your time. Win or lose Saturday, this Steelers era is maddening to long time fans who like me remember excellence and dominance from the team. And nothing seems likely to change soon. If ARII handed you the keys, what would you do to make things right? Or, is this as good as it will get?

Let's hope this isn't as good as it gets. I get it -- it's been good. Four playoff appearances in five years is nothing to dismiss. But there needs to be more than that for a franchise that is accustomed to winning Super Bowls.
