Don't fret -- Minkah will be signed to a big contract after the season.

Why do opposing Offensive Coordinators even bother throwing against the Steelers? Couldn't they simply hand it off on every snap and (barring a fumble) score on every drive? This team has shown zero ability to even slow the run let alone stop it.
Gerry Dulac
11:27
New England did that in Buffalo, threw it only three times. The idiot play-calling by the Vikings OC, who had Kirk Cousins throw it 31 times (completed 14) when they were running for 242 yards, is the reason the Steelers got back into the game in the second half. Among the reasons Mike Zimmer was fired.

Am I missing something here? Denver asked permission to interview Canada for their HC vacancy? Is he a better coach than coordinator maybe?
Gerry Dulac
11:29
You are missing nothing. The person who said that or reported that is missing something.

Hi Gerry, Steelers relatively more healthy for this game vs previous Chiefs game?  I seem to remember TJ missing a lot of the game and Hayden was still out?
Gerry Dulac
11:30
Both teams are pretty healthy for this game.

Narrative violation! I believe Moooth is massive overrated - he is a poor blocker, has dropped critical catches this season and made an inexplicable mental error that almost cost us a playoff birth. What am I missing here? Why the fanbase obsession with him?
Gerry Dulac
11:32
You are missing something but I'm too kind to say what it is

I've read in a few articles that Ben should run the no huddle offense and call is own plays at the start of the game.  I'm not bought into Ben calling plays would make the offense better than Canada calling the plays.  I believe the no huddle has looked good because when we run it we are 3 touchdowns down playing catch-up and the defense is playing soft to eliminate big plays.  Your thoughts?
Gerry Dulac
11:33
I think you better buy into something better than what you perceive.

Is it odd that Mike Tomlin STILL permits players to video record in the team locker room? Is it even more odd that he got down with some of the players? Why is it okay when Coach T does it, but NOT okay when AB does it?
Gerry Dulac
11:33
Different circumstances. And, in case you haven't noticed, today's athletes do it in every sport.,

I am travelling to the game this weekend. #HEARWEGO What is the best BBQ in Kansas City? Also important, what is the bathroom situation inside the stadium?

Will making the playoffs courtesy of a collapse by the Colts increase the job security of Matt Canada continuing to coordinate an offense next season that required overtime to score 16 points after yet another abysmal first half without scoring a touchdown
Gerry Dulac
11:35
I'm not prepared to say Matt Canada will be gone after the season, despite what we have witnessed. But I won't be surprised either way.

Gerry,  Is there any possibility Tomlin let's Ben call the plays against the Chiefs?
Gerry Dulac
11:35
They will continue to do what they have been doing.

Hi Gerry- Is the reason the Steelers use Harvin over Waitman due to holding duties for Boz? Probably more important that our kicker going for three points and being comfortable than losing yards on punts overall?
Gerry Dulac
11:37
That could be part of it, but Boz didn't seem to have a problem the two games Waitman was holding

Hi Gerry, thanks for your chats. Do you honestly think Mason Rudolph has been given ample opportunity to succeed as an NFL quarterback such that the Steelers may have Ben's replacement.
Gerry Dulac
11:38
I don't make those presumptions, they do. I'm only conveying what they think as of right now.

Hi gerry:  amazing how fast the year went.  In your view is there any current starting Steeler offensive lineman that would start on another team due to superior talent or performance.  If so, who?  How much needs a change?
Gerry Dulac
11:39
Probably not. Maybe Dan Moore. He's a pretty good rookie. Maybe Chuks.

Hi Gerry:  Just wondering.    AR II has been yammering for several seasons about improving the running game.  A big potential fix is within his power alone. Fangio just fired HC in Denver.  Fly there and offer Mike Munchak 2-3X the salary to coach and recruit the Steelers OL next season, and give him access to the Steeler private Jet so he can visit his family.  Bingo; Problem improved if not solved with no loss of draft picks.
Gerry Dulac
11:39
I'll let him know

I thought Claypool played a big role Sunday vs Bmore.   Has anything changed with him since the first down gesture vs Vikings?   He was even blocking Sunday!!!
Gerry Dulac
11:40
yes he did. Running and catching. They need him to be more involved, and not just with production.
Bernard
11:40
Am I a bad person for enjoying AB's melt down while Ben rides off into the sunset with fan and media adoration?
Gerry Dulac
11:41
No, but I don't think there was a lot of media adoration. You are mistaking coverage with approval.
Karl Hungus
11:41
Gerry, with the state of the run defense this year, do you think the Steelers will make NT priority early in the draft?
Gerry Dulac
11:41
They need to make defensive linemen -- at least two of them -- a priority early in the draft. A 330-pound nose tackle would be good
Bernard
11:42
Harvin is simply not very good, there's no way Tomlin trusts him this weekend, right?
Gerry Dulac
11:42
He will give you that answer Sunday

Gerry,                                              With Gentry and Freirmuth both playing at a high level, why not go double tight?  This would put 2 reliable receivers on the field as another option  for Roethlisberger as well as help the running game.
Gerry Dulac
11:42
They do go two TEs a lot
Tampa Too
11:42
Gerry. As always thanks for the chats. I think Ray Ray has improved quite a bit this year both as a returner and receiver. What say you?
Gerry Dulac
11:43
They have used him a lot more and he has been productive. A lot of that is because teams pay more attention to 18 and 11.

Does the fact that the stars aligned, the NFL expanded wild card slots, and the steelers getting incredibly lucky in SO MANY ways completely erase the fact that this team is mediocre on their best day and empowered now to keep doing what clearly hasn't worked?
