I actually don't have a problem with that, even though every city that would otherwise host the championship game would be honked off. But here's the other problem, which is why I think it won't be approved: The NFL would be taking away the hotel, restaurant and entertainment revenue from a competing city and give it to another city that has nothing to do with the playoffs. And the fact the NFL would stage the AFC title game in an NFC city is mind-boggling to me. The owners will shoot that down as though it is a clay pigeon.

Steelers receivers have taken turns being distractions for attention that isn't related to play on the field.  First AB.  Then JuJu.  Then Claypool.  Then DJ.  This continues because it is allowed by the organization and people in a position of authority.  Is it safe to say Pickens is next in line for this behavior?

I wouldn't use the word 'safe.' But I think you have to consider the potential for today's NFL WRs to have a little diva in them, waiting o explode. I will say this, too: I think I saw George Pickens mature as the season went along. Now,, let's see if that continues...

Is there any point in drafting a receiver high if they are never willing to throw the ball over the middle? Everything is short and to the sideline.

They won't draft a receiver high. No need. If they do, shame on them. Not before the 4th round.

Is it possible or probable that the Steelers can get Porter and a left tackle with the first 2 picks? In that scenario, would Interior d lineman be a good 3rd pick? Also, I would try to get a free agent ILB instead of trying to draft one as it is an immediate need to stop the run.( Edmunds too expensive?)

I don't know about probable, but certainly possible. And not necessarily Joey Porter, but maybe a top CB. And I don't believe Edmunds is too expensive, especially if you mean Terrell and not Tremaine. The latter ain't happening for reasons stated earlier.

Gerry, my friends out here on the left coast seem to think being a member of LACC is a big deal and that they are therefore a big deal. Is there any truth to this?

You should ask the people at Riviera and Bel-Air if they think that's the case.

Hi Gerry, is there a position you think the Steelers are most likely to attack (trying to find a starter from another team) in free agency? Lots can change (franchise tags, salary cap cuts), but it looks to me like there is a nice crop of off-ball linebackers this year.
Gerry Dulac

That might be the one position they try to attack (your word, not mine). I will remind again -- the Steelers will not be active in outside free agents this year like they were last year. They will focus more on their own free agents and which they want to re-sign.

I believe the Steelers can do better than Canada as an OC. Look at the dramatic jumps in performances that Jones and Lawrence had with great offensive minds in Dabol and Peterson coaching them up this year. I just don't think Canada is going to be the best option for Pickett and the Steelers as a whole short term and long term. Thoughts?

WR seems like it should be addressed but isn’t this talk about Addison a bit much?  No way the team drafts him.

A bit much is an understatement

Why do people suggest moving up in a draft like this? Sit in your seats with that 32nd pick being a boon and attempt to take three guys who will be starters in 2023 or 2024. Plenty of positions in need of upgrading. Let Andy Wiedl (I hope it's Andy and not Tomlin) take the guys he likes. Right, Gerry?

Like he did in Philly, Andy Weidl will put together the draft board -- which players the Steelers like -- and the decisions on who to draft will be a collaborative effort with Mike Tomlin, Omar Khan and Weidl. You have to think if any one person has more say-so than the other, it will be Tomlin. But not necessarily.

OK kids, that's all the time we have today. Good chat. Let's try it again next week.
