Some teams have plenty of cap space and will be fine to spend money for the most part. And, as I said earlier, they will have less competition for the player they desire. The Steelers will not have that freedom -- not for their own or for outside FAs.

Clear that the defense went from exceptional to average after Bud went down.  Do the powers that be see the same and prioritize Bud over 7 and maintain a top 5 defense as team rebuilds offense?

They can't and wont prioritize Bud. They have prioritized TJ Watt. No team can afford two edge rushers like that. And they won't be in position to franchise tag Dupree again

Gerry, it's possible we will have to replace 2 lineman with high draft picks, but if we keep Ben, don't you think that is risky to believe you can complete for a championship with 2 rookies?

Hello Gerry, some Steelers players during the recent super-bowl era would sacrifice signing bigger deals with other teams to stay with the Steelers. They would put the team first, even in the off season. This would not only help build a better team it would help position the organization to contend for a Lombardi trophy. They had character on and off the field and did not showboat after a touchdown or talk trash for no reason before a game. Some of the 'young money' players may not be aware of these off the field sacrifices made by previous Steelers players. In my opinion, the team's veterans should make it a priority to re-establish the Steelers culture this offseason. What do you say?

I say you are right. But I'm not sure which veterans will be around to do that because there aren't many anyway. And I don't see any among the next generation who will do that. The entire culture of today's professional athlete has changed. And anyone who likes it is not interested in winning, they're only interested in selfish social-media entertaining.
