They need to restock their lines with Maurkice Pouncey, David DeCastro, Cam Heyward, Stephon Tuitt types. Not third- and fourth-round draft picks. Not that's there's anything wrong with some of the guys they got on those rounds, but the elite players, the Pro Bowlers, are typically found right away in the draft. Time to go get them again.

How does a team allow itself to be in the position of having a DL comprised of a guy nearing retirement (Cam,) 3 FAs - one with a failing ankle and aging (Alualu) one a journeyman (Wormley,) one about to chase big $$$ (Oganjobi,) a kid who spent mist of 2022 in street clothes (Loudermilk,) a kid entering his 2nd season after spending much of his first injured (Leal,) and a rabble of odds and ends like Davis?  I’d call that piss poor proper planning - see OL, QB, CB. In my opinion, Colbert was generally overrated. Don’t cry Tuitt- he was NEVER a given to return.

That will create a bigger financial headache for teams, all because some teams are stupid enough to hand out contracts to QBs such as Russell Wilson, Kyler Murray and DeShaun Watson.

Enjoyed your article on bringing in a hyper experienced Offensive mind (pun not intended) to help oversee development of O and Kenny P.  What about Jon Gruden?  He could be had on cheap as he wants back in the game.  Deserves a shot at redemption and MT (who has cited Gruden as giving him his first legit shot) and the Rooney’s are ready built to vouch for him - provided the players sign off.  Rich Gannon - MVP, Brad Johnson Super Bowl winner, Derek Carr Pro Bowler…. what are we waiting for?!

And it's not like hot reads are anything new. They have them in college, too. Nothing that an experienced QB like Trubisky, even a rookie such as Pickett, can't handle.

I read the article from another esteemed PG sports writer and I thought he was right on point about how Philly has had different coaches and had success.  Thinking MT is not replaceable is nonsense.  Nothing against him but his stubbornness with his asst coaches and keeping them is a hindrance.  This idea of being around 500 and barely making the playoffs is silly.  Thought the goal was to win championships.  Any comments?  Thank you.
