Well, it doesn't work that way because you have other contracts kicking in. But it does mean you have one less superstar to account for on the cap.

I don't think they have written off, maybe more so just waiting to see how and when he recovers from the surgery.

I think Chuks can be because he is pretty athletic for a big guy. Moves laterally pretty well.

Everyone knows Steelers need upgrades at numerous positions, but they are ALLEDGEDLY up against  in cap space---What is the most logical way of clearing cap space, w/o strapping the team, down the road?

They are up against the cap every year and every year they manage to get under the cap without purging their roster of their stars. They are the best at it. They will manage to do it again this year.

Were you surprised that the 49ers passed on second downs when they were up ten in the fourth quarter?

A littler but not as much as people are saying. The reason the 49ers were on top is because they kept the Chiefs off balance -- throwing when they geared up to stop the run, running when they dropped the safety into two-deep. How about people complaining about their N. 1 ranked defense allowing 21 points in the 4th quarter?? That was a bigger issue.

Recently, APPROX 2 chats ago, I referred that there should be AT LEAST ONE CFL player that would be an upgrade of someone on the 53 man roster, along with the D Cain possibly being of help for next season, U made attempted to make a fool of me, with those two suggestions, Last week Tre Roberson was signed by Bears outta CFL, & outbid 7 other teams, & you also remarked    recently D Cain could be an option--I'll accept ur apology, if u so desire?  I'm not as outta touch as U think!

I don't think I'm optimistic or pessimistic. I think I'm somwhere in between because 1) I need to see more from his recovery, and 2) it's way too early to tell. Nobody associated with Ben is pessimistic, but it's too early for any of them to be overly optimistic.

Based on recent history, KC probably won't return to the Super Bowl next season, and if Brady leaves NE, that leaves Baltimore and the Steelers to fight it out.  Does that sound about right?

Well, I don't think it's that simplistic, but they should be two of the best teams in the AFC. But I wouldn't start discounting the Chiefs just because they won the Super Bowl.

I'm not so sure Hines wants to come back. And they didn't hire him the last time there was an opening, which might have contributed to how he feels now.
