I agree they need to find Cam’s replacement, but I’m also reading the player needs to be someone that can play 5 technique. Is that true given how little they play base 3-4?
Gerry Dulac
11:52
Not true at all. Cam is a three-technique. Go find him

Gerry, if punting against future insurance salesmen is the same as punting against NFL caliber players, why did PH three flame out so spectacularly?
Gerry Dulac
11:53
Nobody said it was the same. And, if they did, they are wrong too
NFL Awards

The Pro Bowl is now a joke.  Not only isn't it football, but the representatives are often 4th, 5th, 6th alternates.  The NFL awards are becoming a joke.  Garrett over Watt?  Jackson over Purdy?  Stefanski over Kneecap??  Yet these accomplishments are often criteria used in the Hall of Fame voting.  Hasn't this criteria become meaningless?

The Pro Bowl "game" has.

Re: Not everyone can find a HOF QB.  Agreed, it's easier to find an OC who runs the west coach offense.  You just have to commit to it.

Only if you have the personnel to play it. And believe in it. Not everybody does.

Good morning Gerry. Do you see the Steelers taking a center in the early rounds of the draft with the aim of being a long term starter, or leaning on Mason Cole for one more year and finding a serviceable center later in the draft?
Gerry Dulac
11:54
No, I think your first observation is more likely. Maybe very likely

One aspect of the final four teams is that every team fought for 60 minutes and gave their all.  Have you seen a Tomlin team do that since Cowher's players left?  It's been a long time.  Why would anybody suddenly expect that to change next year under Mike?

I think everybody understands the playoffs are different from the regular season, the same way the regular season is different from the preseason. The players know it. The intensity levels rises the further you go into the postseason. So, if the Steelers got that far, would I expect to see the same or expect them to be capable of the same? Yes I would.

Our drafts have been awful for nearly the past decade.  Colbert seems to take a lot of the heat for it.  Isn't Colbert the same guy that couldn't miss when he was paired with Cowher?  Then all of a sudden he lost his abilities when paired with Tomlin?  I think we all know the power Tomlin wields and that he often has final say.  Isn't it clear who is to blame for the recent failures?

Timmons, Woodley, Wallace, Pouncey, Sanders, AB, Heyward, DeCastro, Bell, Shazier, Tuitt, Hargrave, Watt, JuJu, DJ, Highsmith, Najee, Freiermuth, Pickens. All since Tomlin has been coach.

Your thoughts on the Super Bowl? Take the ball first in OT or second?

Gerry, in your opinion what should the steelers do at QB and what do you think they will do?
Gerry Dulac
12:02
I think they will give Pickett one more year with a new OC to prove he is their guy. And, as of right now. with no better guarantee, I'd do the same. But, in the meantime, I'd also sign Rudolph

Good morning, Gerry.  Is Javon Hargrave a free agent?
Gerry Dulac
12:03
No, he is good thru 2026 with the 49ers
12:04
OK kids, just like the Super Bowl, we went OT. Thanx for the questions
