Given the Steelers hired a new OC, can Kenny meet with him to go over what Arthur Smith wants from a QB in his system and provide a playbook to study in the off season under the CBA? Are regular meetings in the Steelers facility permitted?
Gerry Dulac
11:33
He can meet with anyone whenever he wants, as long as they are not mandatory and the coaches aren't meeting collectively with the team

I don’t see the Fields to Pittsburgh hype coming to fruition. They’re going to sign a retread, draft a Day 3 guy and march Kenny 2 Gloves out as the starter. Not saying I’m opposed to adding him, but they seem set on giving K2Gs another year. Thoughts?
Gerry Dulac
11:34
I've already spent too much time trying to figure out who the heck is K2Gs

Gerry, how about trading Pickett and a high draft pick (2nd or 3rd) to the Bears for Justin Fields? That way they can select Caleb Williams with their number one pick and have their back up QB in Pickett. It also eliminates the whole competition issue between Pickett and whomever we bring in.
Gerry Dulac
11:35
Oh, wow....that should be easy to accomplish. I'll tell them
Jim
11:35
If you had to guess right now, what 3 quarterbacks will the Steelers have going into the regular season?
Gerry Dulac
11:36
Pickett, Rudolph and possibly the guy they draft on the sixth round. Or a low-rent guy in FA.

are you OK with Travis Kelsey‘s sideline aggression during the Super Bowl being explained away as passion?  Is it OK if our children behave that way too?
Gerry Dulac
11:37
Of course not. Disgraceful and disrespectful, as I stated earlier. He should be fined. I see where Kelce said on his podcast his behavior was "unacceptable." That is the least of the adjectives he or anyone should use to describe what he did.

Hi Gerry, how will the Steelers address the punting situation with Harvin gone (rightfully so)? Bring back a familiar face or start over?
Gerry Dulac
11:38
They will punt and start over
Karma
11:38
I'm rooting for MR to realize every ounce of potential the Steelers thought he had when they drafted him.  Then I'm rooting for him to beat whichever team MT is associated with every time they play.  Wouldn't that be Karmic?
Gerry Dulac
11:38
You are probably not alone.

In the best case scenario, can Pickett develop into a Brock Purdy or Ryan Tannehill?  What QB best represents his ceiling?
Gerry Dulac
11:41
I think everyone should understand Brock Purdy is a really nice QB who has the benefit of playing in a top-flight system that features Pro Bowl/All-Pro types at RB, WR, TE and LT. I bet if you put Mac Jones in that system the 49ers would still get to the NFC championship game. What's to say Pickett won't flourish in Arthur Smith's system, especially with the entire offense back?

What could the Steelers possibly see in Fields?  He's awful.  His winning record is horrible.  His stats are bad.  You can make the argument that he played in Chicago, but even Trubisky found a way to win and put up stats in Chicago.  Fields is worse than Mitch and much worse than Mason.
Gerry Dulac
11:41
I disagree

11:41
Gerry, did Coach T ever share a dining experience with Kirk Cousins that the losers at ESPN may have witnessed and thus could create a false story line in a lame attempt to save their flagging and increasingly obnoxious brand?
Gerry Dulac
11:42
If I know Mike Tomlin, he probably had dinner with Kirk Cousins.
Punter
11:42
Glad the Steelers cut Harvin, although is was two years too late.  Do you think we will sign the former Buffalo punter?  He has talent and was wrongfully accused of the acts that have him banished from the league.  He is a victim that deserves to play again.
Gerry Dulac
11:42
I don't know, to be honest.
Ryan
11:42
Gerry any More Cuts coming Like Robinson before new league year and i think we draft the Iowa punter to replace harvin what do you Think
Gerry Dulac
11:45
Robinson is due $10 million in salary this season, and if they cut him he would only count $1.9 million against the cap instead of $11.9 million. So I would expect him to be released or agree to a new deal for a whole lot less money. And I like that Iowa kid. But, then, Harvin looked impressive in college, too
Troy
11:45
Gerry, yea or nay on Little Troy?  Seems a little demeaning to crawl around on some stranger's scalp looking for loose particles of dry skin, no?  Could you see Lambert doing something similar?
Gerry Dulac
11:45
Nay

11:46
I continually hear rumors about Justin Fields going to the Steelers.  If he's so good, why wouldn't the Bears keep him away and select something besides a QB at #1?
Gerry Dulac
11:47
Because, like most teams, they give a guy, especially a No. 1 QB, three years to show if he is the real deal. If not, they move on. Hey, did I ever point up Pickett is entering his third season??

The offensive coordinator and coaches interview process seemed to go quite quickly, at least compared to other industries. Is that because everyone in the NFL knows each other and knows who is looking for a new job?
Gerry Dulac
11:47
That's part of it
D
11:47
The Steelers are really far away from contending for a championship. Is that honest and accurate?
Gerry Dulac
11:48
It's honest in that you believe it to be true. Whether it proves to be accurate will be determined.

Gerry, T or F: I just unveiled the lamest logo in the history of sports marketing, going back to The Roman Empire?
Gerry Dulac

I was not impressed. Agreed

In 2016 the Chiefs went 12-4, won their division, and lost in the first round of the playoffs. In the following draft they traded up for Mahomes. If a winning season and early playoff wasn’t good enough for them why is it good enough for the Steelers?
Gerry Dulac
11:49
That's why it was a brilliant move by the Chiefs, especially when they already had Alex Smith. All props to them for doing that

Is there a consensus amongst you and your colleagues that Mason Rudolph is at or near his ceiling and he isn't the quarterback of the future?
Gerry Dulac
11:50
I don't poll my colleagues. But I'm not going to claim he is the quarterback for the future, but he might be the best QB until they get to the future.

During the Steelers late season slump, when Dionte Johnson and George Pickens were upset, were they actually getting open and being missed?
Gerry Dulac
11:51
Apparently, as Mason Rudolph proved, that was part of the problem earlier. But, then, that's the different between a second-year QB and a sixth-year QB
