Is there any indications that BR wants to play more than just next year?
Gerry Dulac
11:11
That would depend what happens in 2021.
Ralph LA
11:11
Even if Ben retires this year, and given how far down they pick in the draft and all of their other needs, would this be a year to draft a quarterback?
Gerry Dulac
11:12
Just the opposite Ralph....you take a potential franchise QB when you have a high pick, not a low one. Unless you move up or one drops to you.
Gene
11:12
who makes the final call on who the Steelers draft, Colbert Tomlin, Art Rooney or all 3 have to agree?
Gerry Dulac
11:14
Colbert and Tomlin are the ones who make the call. They have to be in some form of agreement. They don't take a player if one guy likes him and the other doesn't.
Yankton Ern

Gerry,      Chuks-LT, Dotson-LG, Feiler-C, DeCastro-RG, Banner-RT.  How comfortable would you be with that OL?
Gerry Dulac
11:14
I'm not.
Ralph LA
11:14
Would you be able to write a story every year discussing the large number of holes that the Steelers need to address, or is this year worse than normal?
Gerry Dulac
11:15
I have found over the years that the only team that never has that type of story written is the one who wins the Super Bowl.
Ralph
11:15
Hi Gerry.Do you see a greater chance of Ben not coming back know because Pouncey retiring and losing players on offense to free agency that Ben would like back.Thanks.
Gerry Dulac
11:16
I see a greater chance, but not an overriding chance, not a deal-breaker.

Good morning Gerry.  What’s your gut feeling on JuJu?    Most indications are that the Steelers can’t afford his asking price, yet he acts like he wants to stay, supporting Ben and “recruiting “ J.J. Watt.  Thanks.
Gerry Dulac
11:17
Like everything else with JJSS, his talk is meaningless. My gut feeling is based on what others who know tell me -- he will leave in free agency.

I’ve never understood why there are so many Tomlin haters.  I realize the goal every year is to go to & win a SB.  Noll 4-0, Cower 1-1, Tomlin 1-1.  I love the fact we’ve only had 3 HCs since 1969.  There are plenty of examples where making changes don’t alway bare fruit.
Gerry Dulac
11:17
Quick, somebody pay this guy
Nick in Long Beach
11:18
What has Mason Rudolph done, or not done, to not deserve a chance to see if he has the goods  to possibly succeed Ben as starting QB, either this year or next?
Gerry Dulac
11:18
He has done enough and showed enough that the Steelers are comfortable moving on with him right now.
Donna
11:18
Hi Gerry. Any idea when we will know what the salary cap will be?
Gerry Dulac
11:18
Sometime before the draft.
Ralph
11:18
Hi Gerry.Do you get a feeling one way or the other if Ben will come back the longer it goes before they meet.Thanks.
Gerry Dulac
11:19
No, I don't think it matters one way or the other. There have extenuating circumstances why they haven't met yet, but they will.
REID
11:19
Gerry, How many team's fan bases / media want their QB to retire where said QB won 12 or more games last year?
Gerry Dulac
11:20
OK, that's enough intelligent, highly perceptive questions from you.
Retire21
11:20
At the risk of ridicule, there's one other Big Ben scenario no one seems to mention. He may actually like Brees and Brady, play into his 40s? 10% chance on that?
Gerry Dulac
11:20
That's a good number.
Art
11:21
Gerry, so the Steelers won’t be in QB trouble next year, why not extend Rudolph? They could get him cheap at this point.
Gerry Dulac
11:21
That's what they have to decide, though I still don't think they will do that until they know their situation with Ben. But they will have to do it at some point soon.
Ralph
11:21
Hi Gerry.Do you think there is a real chance Piywould draft Kyle Trask in second round.I have heard Pittsburgh has some interest in him. Thanks
Gerry Dulac
11:22
Wouldn't surprise me at all.

Reading up on Haskins and the pre-draft stuff where one big analyst had him top QB in the draft. Coming out of that toxic culture in DC, chances they make something out of him?
Gerry Dulac
11:23
Toxic? Ron Rivera is the coach there. He is not a guy who develops a toxic culture. On the contrary, look what they did this year. You are trying to find a silver lining in what has been a gray cloud.
Tampa Too
11:23
Stud running back or stud Offensive lineman at pic 24? This is assuming equal grades on both
Gerry Dulac
11:23
RB
Wyatt
11:23
Hey Gerry...has Canada indicated if and how Derek Watt will be used?  It doesn’t seem his playing was commensurate with his salary.  Could he be a salary cap casualty?
Gerry Dulac
11:24
It wasn't, he could be and no he hasn't.
John
11:25
Gerry if cap comes in flat like many have said if tv deal comes through could happen.... any chance they sign 48?   If they give a contract to juju over bad This town may cry
Gerry Dulac
11:25
The chances of re-signing Dupree are slim, and you know what they say about slim leaving town.
Kevin
11:26
Do the Steelers really need a big slot receiver to replace JuJu if he leaves? Could they just move Claypool into starting lineup and be fine?
Gerry Dulac
11:26
I think that's what they think.
