Do you think Art Rooney II will explain publicly the reasons that AB gave in their meeting for wanting to leave the Steelers?
Gerry Dulac
11:29
No, and why should he?
Ryno
11:29
Is Brown having his kids play on the field during warm-ups or playing with the microphones during post-game interviews just another one of the things that he was able to get away with that nobody else would?
Gerry Dulac
11:30
Perhaps, but I don't think that anyone really had a problem with that. Troy Polamalu's kids used to run roughshod through that locker room after a game, kinda like the way their dad played on the field.

In your AB article, you list teams to which Steelers won't trade AB.  But, if those teams are willing to offer more, what stops the team the Steelers choose from re-trading him to one of those teams?  Would they then be better just taking the best offer?
Gerry Dulac
11:32
Agreed. Nothing stops them. If that is easily their best deal, I'd make it, regardless if it was Cincy or Cleveland. Also, I said they would not WANT to trade Brown to those teams. I didn't say they won't.

Is there one particular reason to explain why the Steelers have had so many problems drafting and/or developing cornerbacks?
Gerry Dulac
11:33
Other than they've done a poor job of evaluating and also had some bad luck, no.

It would nice if all talk about AB could be tabled until a trade is actually made. As MT says, let’s talk about those who will be here. So, I’ll ask your best guess as to the starting LG and RT for this season.
Gerry Dulac
11:33
BJ Finney, Marcus Gilbert

In all the articles I see about plans for certain players in the future, one named I don't see mentioned is Adeniyi.  What do you see happening down the road, or haven't you seen enough to make an assessment yet?
Gerry Dulac
11:35
No, I like the guy from what I've seen. But the Steelers (and I) need to see a little more. I think the coming offseason and preseason will be big for him.

Honestly I’m not trading Antonio no less then a 2nd if we get anything lesser then that he would sit the whole year if he doesn’t want to play for us I just can’t see how this team loses Bell and brown in the same year tbh I would pay Bell is money have Bell Conner run the ball more and have juju McDonald and draft a receiver in the higher rounds and we should be fine the Steelers has to be smart it’s not reason to sign Ben to a extension if u not going have anyone around u minds weelll trade him and draft a qb like Tyler and restart it I’m just not a big fan of losing both star players the Steelers has to be smart  u lose both for less would be a big blow to Big Ben prime years I’m tired of it
Gerry Dulac
11:36
Relax. They've already replaced one. They'll replace the other. A good receiver doesn't always make a average QB any better. But a good quarterback always makes an average receiver better. Got it??

Will AB have to pass a drug test before a trade can be completed?
Gerry Dulac
11:37
That's not an issue
AugustWest
11:37
Your best guess on what Antonio Brown will fetch in a trade?
Gerry Dulac
11:37
At least a No. 2
TeddyBallGame14
11:37
Given the loss of tremendous talent in AB and LevBell, along with a porous and ineffective defense, has the Super Bowl window of opportunity realistically closed on the Ben Roethlisberger era?
Gerry Dulac
11:37
No.
Not bigchest
11:37
Do you think there’s anything the league can or will do in the future to prevent players from sabotaging their value in the future? AB is still under contract after all.
Gerry Dulac
11:38
That's Antonio Brown's problem. If he is stupid enough to do it, and he certainly has shown that he is, that's on him.
Todd Gack
11:38
Hi Gerry, it looks doubtful that the Steelers extend Tomlin. Any word if they’ll extend Colbert or are their futures intertwined?
Gerry Dulac
11:41
There is no evidence to suggest it is doubtful, to use your word. I will say I don't know why they would, especially after last season. Bell and Brown are gone. Make next year a "show-me" year. Then  decide. After all, what's the hurry?

Why hasn't Oakland been mentioned as a possible trade partner for the Steelers? They have 3 number 1's and Gruden loves him. Plus they got rid of Cooper and Bryant has flamed out. Or on the flip side do you think that the Steelers have already spoken with the Raiders but have not made it public or shared it with members of social media? That would be smart  IMO.
Gerry Dulac
11:41
They have been, by a lot of people.
Confused
11:41
Isn’t Brown just cementing being sent to a bad team? Cuz the worst he looks the lower the pick and the more likely being shipped to a bad team. He needs a new agent too. Am I crazy?
Gerry Dulac
11:43
You are right about driving his value down. But a bad team can also be the one that offers the best deal. If fact, that is the likely case, no matter what the return value is. One has no bearing on the other
AugustWest
11:43
Are there any free-agent running backs who the Steelers might be interested in as a change-of-pace/injury insurance for James Conner?
Gerry Dulac
11:43
Yes. His name is Jaylen Samuels
Scott
11:43
Gerry, to what do you attribute the Steelers disparity in succefully drafting offensive players vs. Defense? My understanding is the same scouts are evaluating both sides of the ball.
Gerry Dulac
11:43
Same scouts, one difference. No. 7

Hi Gerry.  Love your insight along with Ed and Ray.  The marriage is over and I hope the impressionable fans of AB do not learn that the way you make it into this world is by being insubordinate to get your own way.  I have a good job, make a good living, have a contract in fact.  Sometimes I disagree with my Supervisors, but everyday I show up.  The real word works this way.  Lets hope the Steelers can now get better and bring home a championship, for the team and the fan base.  Rant over.  Have a good day.
Gerry Dulac
11:44
Good rant! Pay the man.

Every body says Munchak left for family reasons yet he turned down an extension LAST year. There is no way he could have known at that time there would be an opportunity for him in Denver THIS year. Do you think he wanted out for other reasons and Denver just fell in his lap?
Gerry Dulac
11:45
Denver fell in his lap. And who said he turned down an extension?

11:45
Hello Gerry, Love your chats and all of the work you do! do you see Bradley and Austin as a difference in the DBs selection process prior to the draft?. Think that Edmunds already is a product of such approach.
Gerry Dulac
11:46
I don't see their draft process changing at all. Mike Tomlin and Kevin Colbert make the picks. Assistant coaches have input but not enough to change minds.

am i crazy, but with everyone thinking the sky is falling, we are about to get rid of the biggest 2 clowns of the "circus", in bell and brown. and if we can get a stud LB in the draft, and a decent DB in free agency or the draft, along with a serviceable WR, we're much better than last year and in quite a few years. Getting rid of those two divas, along with defensive playmakers will do a world of difference. thx gerry
Gerry Dulac
11:47
That is what everyone fails to understand. Did anyone stop to consider they might actually be better with the right addition of players?? And they will bring in more than a serviceable WR
