Do you know if any players are hanging around the facility working out?  Is that allowed if not injured?
Gerry Dulac
10:56
Yes, they are allowed to work out, it just can't be supervised by coaches.

Gerry- For future reference Kenny 2 Gloves aka K2Gs is Kenny Pickett. With that out of the way, what do you expect to see from him the season and what would you deem a step forward?
Gerry Dulac
10:57
Yes, TBL, I realized that after I wrote it. A step forward would be staying healthy and being the guy to win a playoff game

You suggested the team will not bring in a QB to start yet we hear every week of the team being the favorite for someone or another. The new betting favorite is Wilson. Is this just national media trolling for clicks?
Gerry Dulac
10:59
That is a very reasonable assumption. The thing everyone fails to realize is that none of those high-priced QBs is going to go to a team where they aren't the No. 1 QB. I mean, why would Justin Fields go to the Steelers if he believes he's a No. 1 QB??

Do you think fans expectations for Washington as a receiver are realistic?
Gerry Dulac
11:00
Which Washington -- Darnell? They are not realistic. Watch the way he walks and tell me what you think about his knees?

Has the fans’ QB envy reached ridiculous proportions?
Gerry Dulac
11:01
It reached that when they drafted Pickett. And now it has taken on an entirely new and ridiculous dimension.

After watching lots of film, will Arthur Smith weigh in on what he thinks of Kenny Pickett moving forward and do you think the decision has already been made that Pickett is #1 going into camp?
Gerry Dulac
11:01
That is not his decision to make, certainly not now. But, yes, Pickett will be the No. 1 guy heading to camp. It will be his job to lose.

Good Morning Gerry,
typically, the thought has been that Centers get picked on day 2 (rds 2-3), but due to the need and to the center from Oregon possibly being there at 1:20 but not 2:20, do you think the Steelers possibly grab him as their first pick this year?
Gerry Dulac
11:02
I wouldn't complain if they did.

Hi Gerry, why is Art Rooney so determined to use low-tier QBs next year? NFL analyst Warren Sharp cited stats about how Pit is worst among all teams in QB stats since Big Ben retired. Sharp said Pit has "become unserious" and it's hard to disagree.
Gerry Dulac
11:02
Warren Sharp? Really?

It seems like fans are assuming Rudolph will return.  Isn’t it more likely that he’ll get a better offer from another team?
Gerry Dulac
11:03
No, it's more likely he will return because the Steelers want him to return. But, to your point, I wouldn't rule out him signing elsewhere either, but I would caution there is not going to be a bidding war for his services or that he's going to receive some type of outlandish deal.

Gerry--Thanks for checking the mail. Is the dynamic duo of Khan and Weidl enough to overcome Mike Tomlin's inability to get beyond a non-losing season and propel the Steelers into a deep playoff run? I'm in my 60s now and fear I may not see another Lombardi make its way to Pittsburgh under the current head coach.
Gerry Dulac
11:04
I wish I could tell you yes, but I'll will say don't live in your fears.

I know the Steelers have to yet much younger and productive on the defensive line. However, this year may not be the year to invest an early pick there. I'm thinking go heavy on the offensive line where there is depth and fill in DL with free agents and late draft choices. What do you think?
Gerry Dulac
11:05
I agree with the first part for sure.

Any chance the steelers try to keep Eric rowe
Gerry Dulac
11:06
I think they should

Why would the Steelers want a QB who played his way off two teams in 3 years, just because he’d be cheap?  He’s obviously no where near the Super Bowl winning QB he once was, otherwise, why would the Broncos be willing to take a monstrous salary cap hit?
Gerry Dulac
11:06
Agreed!

Good morning, Gerry!  Has the PG ever instructed you to send welcome texts to all of us in your chat?

Haha. I thought I did that every week!!

Gerry Tomlin’s colossal mistake in keeping Canada last season made it easy to predict that we would be here with K Pickett this year…rather than “see what he could do with a real coordinator in 24, this could have been determined in 23
Gerry Dulac
11:07
It might not be for the reason you suggested, but bringing back Canada for a third season was the biggest question the Steelers faced heading into 2023. And they do their answer.
11:08
OK, kids, we're outta time. We'll chat next week from the NFL combine.
