Gerry thanks for all your work.  you have been doing this along time...do you ever remember a steelers free agent saying how bad he wants to stay in pgh? I can't remember any "star" who was going to get paid big time saying the things juju been saying

Ben seems to be getting a lot of heat from national and Steelers fans alike. I just don't get it. Do you see a realistic option at QB that gives them a better shot at winning this season?

I know there are a lot of holes to fill, but assuming JuJu leaves, what are the chances the Steelers take a WR in the first three rounds? This is a deep WR class and the Steelers love drafting them.

They never turn their back on a skill player, especially a wide receiver. So the chances would be very good.

In the big picture whether it is this player or that player, this asst. coach or that asst. coach Pittsburgh, in my opinion will not win a SB with Tomlin as HC. He has failed repeatedly to provide leadership (see AB, LB and JuJu), failed repeatedly to have his teams prepared week in and week out and his game management is questionable. Would you agree with this assessment?

That's your assessment. And, unless you daily watch practice and sit in on team meetings, you, me and everyone outside the organization are not qualified to judge whether the Steelers are prepared or not. That is a popular complaint people like to throw around. Trust me, the coaches prepare the SAME each and every week. Just because they lose doesn't mean they weren't prepared.

The Steelers are dangerously thin at almost every position. Does this make them likely for trades down to acquire more picks....unless Harris or Etienne are still available at 24?

It is highly unlikely they will trade down, though they will be in the market to add another draft choice or two, depending what happens with comp picks.

Yes it does. If you're not taking one with the first pick, don't bother with anyone after that. They won't be better than what they have.

Has anyone ever praised Ben Roethlisberger for being the first one-in-last-one-out or for his dedication to preparation film study?  Aren't those things necessary for success for a QB as he ages and begins to lose physical skills?

You ever watch "When Harry Met Sally," when the lady in the restaurant watches Meg Ryan fake a you-know-what for Billy Crystal and says, "I'll have what she's having?" Well, whatever it it Ben has done for 17 years, keep doing it. It has bode well all this time, I would say.

Hi Gerry, in 2019 everyone said Rudolph has no arm because he refused to throw the ball down field, then they said the same about Duck.  Presumable Ben had no or little input in the offense at that time.  Now they're saying Ben is washed up because he cant throw the ball downfield...did it ever occur to anyone that maybe its not Rudolph's arm, Duck's arm or Ben's age, but instead just a crappy offensive game plan designed to not turn the ball over.  I dont get people.

Even if we get a 1st Rd RB our O-line was/is horrible for the run game.  But that wasn't always the case ie Connor's pro bowl year.  What happened?  Talent issue, scheme issue, coaching, etc?  And do you see this being addressed in the draft?

All that, though primarily scheme and technique up front. It will be addressed in the draft, free agency, OTAs, minicamp, training camp....

None of those. They already have three top guys, and they like Ray-Ray McCloud. If they add a veteran, it will be not be a top-tier guy

The Steelers are obviously in the mindset of going all in for one more year with Ben. Should they be aggressive and trade up for Harris? No running game makes bringing Ben back a waste of space.

Gerry..I'm in shock at this towns treatment of Ben.......365 days ago they couldn't wait for him to be healthy...now they hate him and want him to retire? Why do you think that? I mean he didn't play well at end of year but it wasn't like he was skipping the ball into people
