Anyone going blame Colbert? For this mess why was he allow to draft when a new gm was coming in I think we all can agree he reached on Pickett he was horrible the last 5 years
Gerry Dulac
10:28
I'll take a poll.

Hi, Gerry. At what position do you feel Omar may strike for a big ticket FA and pay the money to upgrade there over the draft? It seems as if getting the right veterans made a difference last year until injuries hit (and those players weren't big money signings). Roberts, Holcomb, Alexander, Rowe off the top of my head.

Gerry - thanks for the chats - I enjoy your viewpoint.  I no longer live in Pgh so i wind up being exposed to alot of Steelers news - mostly national stories.  To me the whole thought process about them getting Wilson is ridiculous - #1, Wilson will be able to choose where he goes after he gets fired; #2 Wilson needs to be a starter not a backup or else he'll be out of football after next year and the Steelers are not going to elevate Wilson over Pickett absent injury or poor play by Pickett; #3 Wilson is a weird selfish dude and has turned into a locker room cancer now that he can't single handedly win games in the 4th quarter.  No chance he comes to the Steelers;  no chance the Steelers want him.  Thoughts?
Gerry Dulac
10:29
Correct. I think RW still wants to be a starter and there is no guarantee of that at all with the Steelers

People talking Jonnu Smith to Steelers. Seems TE room is already full. Thoughts ?
Gerry Dulac
10:29
Correct

Much to the dismay of J Sinns, Sara J & the nattering nabobs of negativity in PGH talk radio, the Steelers will not be bringing in RW, JF or KC. The upside of any of the 3 is not that great once the cost is factored in. I say let's see KP w/ a new OC & then decide. Agree?

Good morning, Sir!   Down here in Miami, the locals are vying for Jackson (?) Center from Oregon and I believe the Doplphins pick after the Steelers.  Will Mr Khan trade up for him?
Gerry Dulac
10:32
I think he'll still be there at No. 20. Only two centers have been drafted in the first round the past four years and the last one, Tyler Linderbaum, went at No. 25 to the Ravens.

Gerry, could Starkey card better than an 86 if granted an invite to a PGA Tour qualifier?
Gerry Dulac
10:32
Did you say 186??

Hi Gerry! Has anybody at the combine already been able to catch your eye, who wasn't on your radar already?
Gerry Dulac
10:32
No because there haven't been any workouts to watch
Pat from Ellwood city
10:33
Hi Gerry do think they will go center in the draft or go in house with Daniel
Gerry Dulac
10:33
It won't be James Daniels.

Hi Gerry - golf question here. It's hard to imagine just how many wins Scottie Scheffler could have if he could just make 10' putts. Tee to green he's incredible. Do you think he's got a major win or two in him this year?
Gerry Dulac
10:33
Yes I do. Maybe the first one

Good morning Gerry.  I have only one simple question for you.  It's possible that you've heard this question before.  Who do you believe will be the Steelers starting quarterback this year beyond the first 3 games?
Gerry Dulac
10:34
I have not heard that one before. I'll stick with the safe bet -- Pickett

While Smith is certainly an upgrade over Canada, that is not difficult to do.  We still kept the likes of Austin, Sullivan, Faulkner, etc.  It seems like preparation and game planning have been a bigger problem than talent and players for a long time.  Couldn't we have done much more to improve the coaching staff?
Gerry Dulac
10:35
I don't have a problem with the staff. I just would've liked to see one more move

The best way to a Super Bowl is with a franchise QB. There have been teams get there without one if they have an elite defense. I think that’s what the Steelers are trying to do. But, even though the Steelers have invested a lot of $$
Gerry Dulac
10:35
Not many. Most have won with the elite QB. Just go back and check the past 25 years.

Gerry: any progress on Mason Rudolph’s contract negotiations?

None yet

Gerry, what's with all this love Harbaugh is sending Tomlin's direction?  Of course he loves Tomlin - their recent playoff records are pathetically similar, no?

The steelers will never do this, but would you consider offering Watt and our next two 1st round picks to the Bears for the #1 overall pick? JJ started going downhill at age 29. TJ is now 29. His value is extremely high right now. We had some of the best defensive players in the league in the 90's but won nothing w/o a QB. Would it be wise to move off TJ now if it can get you the #1 pick?
Gerry Dulac
10:38
TJ and two No. 1s, eh????

How is it possible the Bengals have the 10th most cap space available and the Steelers have the 10th least available?
Gerry Dulac
10:39
I don't think it is possible with Joe Burrow's contract. But the Steelers have a lot of money invested in 39, 90 and 97

If Mason Rudolph is interested in resigning, when would you expect that to happen in the next two weeks? I haven’t noticed any team signing any of their soon to be free agents at this point. Is there a reason for that? Do teams typically wait until after the combine to begin resigning their free agents? Thanks.
Gerry Dulac
10:40
Yes

Due to Colbert's dismal drafting the last five years the team has no depth. Should they consider trading down to get more picks?
Gerry Dulac
10:40
I don't think they have any intention of doing that
