Favorite Rod Woodson memory?  He's 56.  Can't believe it.
Gerry Dulac
11:20
Too many. And I know
GM

For the right price can you see us bringing in CB Butler?  He was just released
Gerry Dulac
11:22
Every time a player from another team is released someone asks me if the Steelers would be interested. They are not going to bring him or another corner in as long as they have Nelson and Haden.

Gerry, if Ben has a good year and is still playing at a high level, no health issues, etc,  and he wants to play could he come back n 2022?
Gerry Dulac
11:22
He could but he would have to sign a new contract. There is no salary structure beyond this year for him.
Steve
11:22
How much are the Steelers currently under the salary cap and how much does it take to sign the rookie class?  Thanks!
Gerry Dulac
11:23
I don't know those answers yet

Hey Gerry, if you had to give a cause for the running game woes, would you split the blame evenly between the RB, OL, and play calling or is one area a bigger concern in your opinion?
Gerry Dulac
11:23
Mainly it's the scheme and technique used by the offensive line. Doesn't mean those others aren't a factor

Hello Mr. Dulac and thanks for the chats.  It very much seems like the late season collapses are partly a me first cultural problem.  QB that won't sneak, TE that can't/won't block,  QB that doesn't like to go under center, multiple defenders that shoulder bump instead of wrapping up when tackling, receiver drops, dancing on logos.   These are things that mean the difference of moving the chains and stopping other teams possessions in tight hard fought games.  do you see this changing anytime soon?
Gerry Dulac
11:26
Hey, that goes to coaching too -- putting players in position where they don't excel. You cant ask a Mercedes to do the work of a F150. Plus, the entire NFL is made up of players who don't tackle. And lots of players drop passes. The issues go beyond that.

Can the Steelers salvage any of the current running backs?  Rather see the OL get a boost from this draft.
Gerry Dulac
11:26
I'm sure they will keep Snell and McFarland. No reasons to move on from them.

What's with all the whining with Steeler fans?  We will figure it out and be competitive, we always do.  My dad was a browns fan and thankfully he didnt brainwash me into liking the browns.  Best dad move ever!
Gerry Dulac
11:27
Pay him too!

Hey Gerry, any chance the Steelers consider transitioning Edmunds to ILB? He plays his best football close to the line and in the box. Made big plays and locked TE’s down. He is very weak when he’s back in coverage and finds himself burnt a lot in the secondary.
Gerry Dulac
11:27
Now there's another smart guy!!

Hilton went to Niners.
Gerry Dulac
11:28
No he didn't. That's just a prediction. Not allowed to sign UFAs till next week. But I do think the Steelers will not re-sign him.
Steve
11:28
Any word if training camp will be back at St. Vincent’s with fans in attendance?
Gerry Dulac
11:29
No, but I'm guessing it will be.

Who are the likely candidates for extensions to save money? Assuming Watt and Minkah get their big pay days in the future with a lot of cap clearing for next season and potentially an expanded cap. Nelson? DeCastro? Haden?
Gerry Dulac
11:30
Not sure about DeCastro. They haven't approached him about a contract extension. Haden might need some type of extension now to lower his cap hit. Nelson? I don't think so.

You say the Steelers have never bent to Roethlisberger's demands. Some of your colleagues say things like "Fichner was Ben's hand-picked coach". So who should we believe - you or your co-workers?
Gerry Dulac
11:31
You can believe whatever and whomever you want. There is a difference between guessing and knowing.
Dean
11:31
Odds the steelers don't even offer juju a contract, because they just can't afford it
Gerry Dulac
11:31
Pretty darn good
Jake
11:31
One last question Gerry and thanks for your replies. I personally think Mike Hilton will fail in any other system. He's not good at coverage and if a team don't use him correct he will fail. Do you see a buyer beware with him?
Gerry Dulac
11:31
You are right and yes I do.
Jay D
11:31
Gerry, do you think the Steelers will draft a center or get one in free agency?
Gerry Dulac
11:32
I think I have addressed that many times. Free agency has been their path in the past and it makes the most sense.

Gerry - Obligatory golf question......who do you like for the Players and Masters?
Gerry Dulac
11:32
Pick from these three -- McIlroy, Reed, Spieth

There is concern here in NY where I live that Saquan Barkley's knee may not be healing as well as it had been hoped.  How much would an issue like that play into the Steelers' draft plans? I am hoping that either Harris or Etienne is there at 24, but maybe even a superstar RB is too much of a risk.  Jonathan Turley is not the same guy he was before he got hurt. I am old enough to remember how great Ki-Jana Carter was before his injury.
Gerry Dulac
11:33
That's the reason teams are skeptical about investing big time in RBs. Cowboys were foolish to give Zeke that big deal. They will regret it in another year, maybe sooner.
Mr. Cheech
11:33
Hey Gerry, love your work. With the lower cap and all the consequential cap casualties do you see a lot of veterans working on single year vet min contracts this year, making the third (or fourth wave) of free agency where the value is?
Gerry Dulac
11:34
Yes, I think you will see more one-year contracts than past two years, even two-year deals.

Gerry, If Najee Harris is gone at #24, is Travis Etienne a viable "Steelers" RB ? I havent heard much about him regarding his ability to Block.
Gerry Dulac
11:34
I think Javonte Williams is more likely
