I’ve read reports that we could free up another 30 million in cap space with some restructures and a Cam extension. Has that been discussed internally? Curious as to why that hasn’t happened already if that number is true.

Hello Gerry, I know I'm in the minority and can't say I'm a fan of the DJ move, unless he was demanding a trade & truly wanted out. A player heading into the last year of a contract is more likely to be motivated to produce than not. It's not often that a rookie WR can step in to the # 1 spot, or even #2. If people think TB can replace him, I think they will be disappointed. What do you believe the plan is?

I'm not sure of the future plan, but I don't think Tyler Boyd is  replacement for DJ. But the plan was the Steelers were going to move on from DJ one way or another. The headaches were too big.

They dont need a starting center in FA, just a potential backup, tho they think Nate Herbig can't fill that role.

Gerry,    Ummmm.  The Steelers sign Rus Wilson.  For the money.  A great move.  Now they have a Wilson Pickett QB combo.  Let's just hope Steeler fans are not "Waiting for the Midnigh Hour" to see some success.......hey they can also use 634-5789 as an audible call.

Hello . Thank you as always for the chat . Do you think that Steelers still want to bring Rudolph back and can you see it  happening ? It would make sense for both Steelers and Mason since Wilson is just one year bandaid and if Steelers can see someone other than Pickett as QB this year , this can happen next year as well if Mason is around ? He knows the system and has played well and I would think it would be better for him than going anywhere else as QB 2 . What do you say ? Thank you very much .

There's been a lot of speculation (fans, some media, myself) that this team needs a new RT and DL this offseason. But is there a chance the team doesn't see it that way, and they are fine going into the season with the lineup of Moore & Jones at tackle and Cam, Larry O and Benton? If that's the case, then it becomes easier to fill the remaining holes in the draft. If it's not, then surely another starter will be signed in free agency, right?

Do you think they will name Wilson the starter heading into preseason or will they say it's a competition? What reason would they have to not name him the starter? I see no conceivable situation where Wilson goes in to the season as the backup  quarterback even if he is outperformed by Pickett. So why not just say what it is and eliminate the storyline.

Even with all of his flaws, Diontae was a great route runner and chain mover.  Is someone like Tyler Boyd or Curtis Samuel a higher priority now, to help build out that WR room?  And...is Pickens mature enough to be a leader of that group? Thx
