Gerry, might be time for you to get some new sources, or ACTUAL sources in the first place. Just a week ago you swore Steelers weren’t looking at any QB’s to start over Kenny or bring in any of the big name FA QB’s. Well, as usual you were wrong. When will you realize you’re a beat writer at a bottom of the pack paper. You have no sources. No one is giving you inside info of the front offices thought process!

They need to find two, and at least one will come very high in the draft. I'm thinking the other will come in free agency because they are very young at the position. A veteran will be nice.

Mats, see earlier answers. DJ was a good receiver, they just got tired of the headaches. It's like an old coach once told me -- when the production outweighs the aggravation, you keep him; when the aggravation outweighs the production, you get rid of them. Actually, the coach was none other than former Spirit coach John Kowalski.

Reading Ray’s chat yesterday, he mentioned ‘knowing’ the Queen signing was coming.  For this chat, how much do you guys know , but can’t say, and when do you know it?  For perhaps a longer article, can you take us thru what the whole process looks like?  To sign two players so far and make one trade, how many players are on the board and being considered/ approached?   How many get into real negotiations?   Would love an inside view!  Thanks.

There are certain media people who are aware of some upcoming moves, but for various reasons that a lot of the public wouldn't understand wait until we know its all but official. Deals that seem apparent don't always come through. This Ray fella....does he talk to me??

How significantly does the Johnson trade impact their draft plans? I don’t see WR as a viable option in round 1 given other needs on the OL and defensive backfield, but what say you?

It impacts it a lot. And I wouldn't rule out it being a viable option in Rd. 1. It is, though it doesn't mean it will be in round 1

Gerry, how about CB?  The Steelers need another guy like Porter to have a couple of young, possible shut down CB's.  I'd take the top CB available in the draft with the first pick and grab the center in round 2.  Thoughts?
