Good morning, Mr Dulac. Would it be accurate to say that with a possible Pro Bowl category QB on a rookie contract, Cam H perhaps 2-3 years away from taking up his life work, the league’s highest paid defense, what looks like an improved roster (esp OL), and 3 draft picks in first 50 the Steelers are looking at the next 2-3 seasons as a legit championship window?

I wouldn't go that far. Let's give Kenny Pickett a chance to develop some more before putting him in the Pro Bowl (though that doesn't seem to be a big deal anymore). And I don't think Cam has 2-3 more years to play at the same level. But I do think they are taking the right steps in the right direction.

The Steelers could sign Nathan Peterman for 3 years for $6 million total. Is this not tempting?  Mitch Tribusky is inconsistent at best and rarely used his mobility anyway last year.

Hello . Thank you as always for the chat . It seems like there is difference of philosophy in scouting college prospects when it comes to Weidl and Colbert . While colbert name could be found on at least a dozen college pro day visit , I have yet to see Weidl name on any prodays , even when the whole Steelers brass name can be found on prodays of colleges like Georgia. Ohio . Do you know if he has been part of the pro day circuit tour as well ? Personally, I would think that would be an advantage . Thank you very much .

I do not know his travel schedule, but, trust me, he is part of the college evaluation because he is putting together the draft board

QB questions Gerry, have the Steelers spoken to any veteran backups or will we get our third QB via the draft or undrafted FA? Also, has anyone engaged with Mason? I’d love to see him get a shot as a number 2 if not more.

Now, as for the third QB, I think you will see that be a low-level FA, whether veteran or undrafted rookie.

What is up with Ben’s crazy support of Canada?   When he was here he didn’t think so higher of him and basically ran his plays when Canada’s weren’t working.  Just trying to get interest in is podcast I guess.  Thanks.

Hi, Gerry Every mock draft I’m seeing has the apparent future stars at positions of need (corner, LT) gone by the time pick #17 rolls around. I am normally not a huge fan of trading down, but maybe this is the year to do it instead of possibly reaching for need at 17. Trade down in the first round and pick up a badly needed second or third round pick and take advantage of the depth of the draft. What say you?

How do you see things shaping up to cover the quality TE's and slot receivers from the linebacker position? Seems to have been a vulnerable point in the past, and the new guys seem like mostly run stoppers?

Is anyone doing a story on Mike Tomlins failed coaching of the defense and why he won't let go? Is he that ignorant of the numbers?  The last few games don't make up for the many games of losses because of failed defensive play. Will the new defensive players be subjected to his poor defensive coaching?

Ive done some mock  sims its seen that the steelers  need to take  DT in 1st round and OT in the 2nd and others will be there afterwards..but not for DT or OT. Seems if they go after Jeoy Porter it will throw off their draft. What  say you.
