Who do you hope lands GM job? The list is quite long, should we worry they cant find their guy or is it just due diligence?
Gerry Dulac
11:37
Don't fret. Due dilligence. If they didn't interview a lot of people, everyone would scream they didn't look hard enough

I love the Rooney's family ownership and the environment that it fosters within the Steelers' organization.
I am glad they finally broke the long standing contract rules to get TJ Watt's extension done but it seems like they are too willing to allow things to continue in mediocrity with the "we have a chance if we can just make the playoffs" mentality.
I would like to see a little more aggressive buy in on certain seasons, ala the Rams, when there is a realistic chance to compete for a Super Bowl even if it means there are a couple of non-winning seasons mixed in.

I'm not going to compare it to the Rams -- not that all their moves were smart (Von Miller was a waste of money and picks) -- but they were at least more active than they've ever been before in free agency. And they didn't wait around till some guys were picked over. They went right after Trubisky and Daniels and jumped on Jack a day after he was released.

Gerry, what’s your take on Derek Watt? Seems like a lot of cash for little production. Also, did you ever hit hybrid short irons? Hoping you start a golf chat sometime!

Second-highest paid FB in the league is all you need to know.

Do you think they keep T. Edmunds?
Gerry Dulac
11:41
Like I said earlier, only if he's still sitting there and nobody else bites. They will not chase him.

Gerry, Love the chats.  2 questions.  Is Mickelson done? & What will the Steelers do to enhance the WR situation?
Gerry Dulac
11:42
They will draft a WR at least by the second day of the draft

Will Kevin Colbert build for the future or do you see him trying to force the QB issue in his last draft?
Gerry Dulac
11:42
He will not force the QB issue. Hey, this isn't like his farewell draft and he gets to do what he wants.

What veteran WR would be the best fit for our young WR room that would bring the leadership we need?
Gerry Dulac
11:43
I don't know but I think you will see them add a mid-tier WR either before or after the draft to give the WR room some experience/leadership.

Their interest in Willis and Pickett is high. Chances we trade up a few spots to take either if they drop past 10? Or wait it out and grab DL or a CB?
Gerry Dulac
11:43
Who says so?

Many have Trubisky penciled in as the starter… shouldn’t it be Rudolph’s job to lose? Fans are not factoring in the OL, running game or lack there if etc.. when he has started.. Thanks
Gerry Dulac
11:44
No, not now. To quote my friend Tom Donahoe, they didn't bring Trubisky in to lead the band at halftime

Hi Gerry, Malik WIllis' work out yesterday was impressive. However, most top QB prospects have similar or even better workouts. After all, it was an indoor workout with no pressure. It doesn't change the fact that Willis is only 6 ft tall and he will have problems with tall OL in front of him as well as tall DL/OLB coming after him. That is why he threw 12 INTs in a lesser league where Liberty plays. If he falls to the Steelers at pick 20, I am fine but I would say it is not wise to trade up for him. Your thoughts?
Gerry Dulac
11:45
Bingo. They all look impressive when no pass rush is coming at them and the pocket is collapsing and you can't see over some 6-5 lineman/edge rusher because you're barely 6-foot and your WR aren't being jammed at the line of scrimmage and your window in the NFL is half the size of what it was in college.

Hi - based on the high interest level the Steelers are showing for Willis, do you really think they are into moving up in the draft with a trade?
Gerry Dulac
11:46
Let's hope not.

Good morning Gerry.  With all the interest that HC M Tomlin has shown in M Willis, do you think that it is even possible that the Steelers would take him if he is available at #20??  Thanks.
Gerry Dulac

I learned a long time ago to never say never when it comes to the draft. But there is a reason they signed Trubisky to compete with Rudolph and that is because they have other areas that need significant help and that's DLine. The other reason they signed Trubisky is to give them the mobile QB they don't have. So why draft Willis, or, worse, move up tp get him, when he might -- MIGHT -- only be the best of a very average QB class. It not only makes no sense, it would be one of their dumbest draft moves ever.

After free agency signings, is it becoming more clear that besides D Line the Steelers may select a WR in round 1 if someone they love falls to them?  They never seem to pass on a talented skill position.

I am a bit surprised that we have not heard anything about Tuitt's contract being restructured or a statement of him being back. I empathize with him in the loss of a loved one and can understand the difficulties that can cause in a persons life.
How long will this situation be allowed to play out before a decision is forced?

Now that we have a Brady unretirement can we get Big Ben back...?
Gerry Dulac

One difference -- Tampa Bay wanted Brady back.

Good morning.  Have you heard any rumors about free agent safeties or wide receivers visiting the steelers recently?  Thanks for the chat.
Gerry Dulac
11:50
None. That may come later, like after the draft when they see where they are.

11:50
Hi Gerry. What are the odds the Steelers trade up for Pickett or Willis? They've seemed to zero in on those two throughout the pre-draft process.
Gerry Dulac
11:51
They're not zeroing in on them. The national media is zeroing in on them attending their pro days. Big difference

Gerry thanks for the chat.  Saw that Bengals signed Collins for the same money they spent on Okorafor.  Do you know if they had any interest in Collins. If not was lack of interest due to injury, substance abuse issue and age?

11:52
Gerry, do you think that the Steelers will sign and draft the best players they can, this year, to play in the NFL for the next three to five years, or try to fill as many holes as they can?  Thanks
Gerry Dulac
11:54
This idea they draft the best player available is complete nonsense. They draft the best player available at a position of need. If the player they like at a position of need isn't available, they go to the next position of need and draft the best player available at that position, provided that player has a better first-round grade than any of the other available players at the first position of need. Got it?
